Democrats voted for another government shutdown to once again grandstand at the expense of the American people.
This week, the House held a hearing highlighting the devastating impacts another Democrat shutdown will have on our Coast Guard, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, TSA, and FEMA.

- Coast Guard Admiral Thomas Allan:
- "A funding lapse has severe and lasting challenges for our workforce, operational readiness, and long-term capabilities."
- "The Coast Guard Gunner’s Mate manning a weapon in the Strait of Hormuz should not have to worry if their family will be able to pay rent."
- TSA Administrator Ha Nguyen McNeill on the last Democrat shutdown:
- “We heard reports of officers sleeping in their cars at airports…selling their blood and plasma, and taking on second jobs to make ends meet.”
- Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Director Dr. Madhu Gottumukkala:
- "It would force over a third of our frontline security experts and threat hunters to work without pay.”
- “When the government shuts down, cyberthreats do not, and our adversaries work 24/7.”
- FEMA Associate Administrator Gregg Phillips:
- "A government shutdown would severely disrupt FEMA's ability to reimburse states for disaster relief costs and to support our recovery from disasters."
