What is Joe Biden offering the Taliban in exchange for the safety of American citizens, lawful permanent residents, and green card holders?
According to his Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, “about 100 American citizens...who seek to leave” and “several thousand” green card holders are still trapped in Afghanistan. Reports indicate the number of American citizens could be even higher, including over 140 currently blocked from leaving at the Mazar-i-Sharif airport. For context, this surpasses the number of Americans held hostage during the Iranian hostage crisis.
When asked if the U.S. is negotiating with the Taliban as Americans remain stranded, Blinken did not rule out direct support or recognition for the terrorist group.

He also already conceded the U.S. is sending aid to NGOs operating in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, while referring to the Taliban as the “Afghan government.”

This is a hostage crisis in Afghanistan – to describe it any other way is denial. The Taliban has already seized billions in U.S. weaponry. Americans deserve to know whether the Taliban is using the Americans Biden abandoned as leverage to get even more from his administration
