Democrat Fails, Hypocrisy, and Lies

What was that?

Rapid Response

Well Biden’s speech was a disaster.

From a bizarre appeal to the “Iranian people” on Ukraine, to doubling down on his failing far-left agenda, to complete denial on the border, to refusing to recognize his disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, Biden’s State of the Union was a political stump speech indicative of a man refusing to recognize reality.

The media reviews were not good:

  • NBC's Chuck Todd: “I think we all expected a little bit more.”
  • The Atlantic's Peter Wehner: “This is a wounded presidency.”
  • Fox News' Bret Baier: Biden “has very low approval ratings now on every major issue he talked about tonight...illegal immigration surge at the border, inflation at a 40-year high, surging crime in big cities, energy costs on the rise...”
  • NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell: “There was a strange moment at the end when he said 'go get 'em' … we're not quite sure what he means.”
  • CNN contributor Scott Jennings: “This presidency needs a pivot, let's be honest.”
  • Fox News’ Dana Perino: “uninspired …. almost as if they had a speech, it fell on the floor, all the pages got shuffled around and they just put it back together and they didn’t actually reorder it.”
    • “I don't think that did anything for independents or suburban moms.”
  • NBC's Richard Engel: “The problem is you didn't hear a great deal of new information” on the Russia/Ukraine conflict.
  • Fox News' Charles Payne: Biden's oil reserves announcement “backfired big time...it goes beyond being a gimmick.’
  • CNN’s David Chalian: Instant reaction to Biden’s speech shows his support, even among Democrats, is “on the decline, there’s nothing in this speech to suggest he turned that around.”

And the reviews were even worse from Americans around the country:

  • CNN: A majority of speech watchers did not think Biden spent enough time on violent crime and inflation.
  • Mateo, an independent from Florida: “I did not feel hopeful…It hurts.”
  • Patty from New Mexico: “way out of touch with the working people…Gas is high. Food is high...[Biden] didn't touch on any of those issues."
  • A college student from California: “His entire State of the Union was filled with platitudes and lies.”
  • A voter from Texas: “it was kind of weird to see [Biden] lecturing us on how he’s going to keep the border secure … [Biden has] no plan, no details.”
  • Ronald from Texas: Biden “talked about border control. I wish he would control it!”
  • Robert from North Carolina: Biden's speech was “distracting from all of the things that have been going on … I do not understand where this man is going with this country.”

America needed relief from Biden’s disastrous first year. What we got was a double-down from a struggling, stubborn, career politician – and that’s bad news for the American people.
