Where are December’s border numbers?

Where are December’s border numbers? This is the longest it has taken to release border numbers in over 5 years.

Reports indicate that over 178,000 illegal immigrants were encountered at the border in December, which would make last month the worst December at the border in DHS history. Including December’s numbers, nearly 2 MILLION illegal immigrants have been apprehended at the border since Biden took office.

What’s worse, the Biden administration KNOWS the number of apprehensions, but appears to have decided to hide the numbers and delay releasing them.

Court documents show the Biden admin already knows the number of border encounters in December, but has not yet publicly released them.

And it’s not just the top-line number, but all of the details – including on unaccompanied minors, drug trafficking, and the number of illegal immigrants Biden released into the country – that accompany the data.

Unfortunately for the American people, this is just the latest in Biden’s continuing effort to sweep his border crisis under the rug:

• The Biden administration obstructed press access to border facilities.
• Biden has failed to release a report of ICE’s number of arrests and deportations for 2021, breaking a decade long precedent of releasing this report by the end of the calendar year.
• More than 47,700 illegal immigrants released into the U.S. with a “Notice to Report” have gone missing.
• Border czar Kamala Harris hasn’t held a border-related public event in over 165 days.

Biden may want to forget about his border crisis, but the American people don’t. It’s past time to release December’s numbers.
