Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman has REPEATEDLY called for decriminalizing all drugs. Would John Fetterman legalize illicit fentanyl?
Fentanyl overdoses are now the leading cause of death for Americans age 18 to 45 years old, as synthetic opioid deaths have skyrocketed 80% in two years. The DEA warns that Mexican cartels are “killing Americans with fentanyl at catastrophic and record rates like we’ve never seen before.”
Every state has been affected. In Pennsylvania:
- Penn State warned students about the dangers of “rainbow fentanyl” – a type of fentanyl designed to target children and teens.
- Aleta Kammerer, a Pennsylvania parent, sounded the alarm earlier this year after multiple counterfeit vape pens containing fentanyl were confiscated from students in Pennsylvania's Mifflin School District.
- In June, a toddler in Munhall was found unresponsive and later died at the hospital from an overdose after being exposed to fentanyl.
- In January, a four-month-old baby was found unresponsive and later died at the hospital, where an autopsy revealed the child had fentanyl in its system.
- In May, a 2-year-old child in Munhall died of a fentanyl overdose after getting his hands on fentanyl that was within easy access in his home.
- Two other children, ages four and seven, were also in the house at the time and the four-year-old tested positive for fentanyl and survived.
- In June, police seized 2,210 bags of fentanyl in Luzerne County in a drug bust.
- According to the report, the police discovered two children in the room where the drugs were found.
Fentanyl is poisoning Americans like never before. If Fetterman gets his way, illicit fentanyl would likely be decriminalized. That would only make the crisis worse, and bolster the evil cartels that are profiting off death and destruction.
