Biden’s Policies Led To Skyrocketing Prices And A Supply Chain Crisis; Now, His “Build Back Broke” Agenda And Unconstitutional Vaccine Mandates Will Only Make Things Worse

BIDEN IS TRYING TO REWRITE HISTORY ON INFLATION

Today, Biden gave a speech to try to deflect blame from his failed policies that have led to rising prices.
Biden and his administration spent months downplaying, joking, and laughing about the skyrocketing prices they created which are now burdening workers, families, and small businesses across the country.
- After the Biden administration realized that dismissing inflation didn’t work, they started to absurdly blame Republicansfor Democrats’ own failed policies.
Biden has no answer for inflation, and his policies will only make rising prices and the related supply chain crisis even worse.
- Biden and Democrats are trying to ram througha bloated, multitrillion-dollar spending bill which even liberal economists have warned will lead to higher inflation and make life harder for middle-class and poor Americans.
- Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandates will lead to even more workers leaving the workforce, worsening the supply chain crisis.

BIDEN AND HIS ADMINISTRATION SPENT MONTHS SAYING RISING PRICES WEREN’T REAL

For months, Biden repeatedly said that inflation was only going to be “temporary.”
- In June, Biden downplayed Americans’ concerns about rising prices, saying inflation was going to “pop up a little bit then go back down.”
- In July, Biden said price increases “were expected and expected to be temporary,” there is “nobody suggesting there’s unchecked inflation on the way,” and that “it’s highly unlikely that it’s going to be long-term inflation that’s going to get out of hand.”
Other Biden officials downplayed the idea that inflation was an issue and claimed it was only “transitory.”
- In May, White House National Economic Council Deputy Director Bharat Ramamurti said current inflation was a “good sign” and only “short-term.”
- In July, Biden’s Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen called the price increases “transitory” and minimized concerns about inflation, saying “over the medium term, we’ll see inflation decline back toward normal levels.”
- In September, Biden’s National Economic Council Director Brian Deese tried to spin price hikes as “in line with historical norms."
- In October, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki sarcastically mocked Biden’s supply chain crisis as a “tragedy.”
- In October, White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain dismissed inflation and supply chain issues as “high class problems.”
- In November, Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm laughed when asked about rising gas prices burdening Americans, saying, “that is hilarious.”

RISING PRICES ARE REAL AND AMERICANS KNOW BIDEN IS TO BLAME

67 percent of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of inflation and 82 percent of Americans say items they usually buy are costing more than they used to under Biden.
Biden is responsible for the high prices everyday Americans face, having dumped $1.9 trillion into the economy which lead to record inflation.
- Consumer prices increased by 6.2 percent in October compared to last year, the largest annual increase in 30 years.
- Producer prices have risen 8.6 percent since last October, the seventh month in a row it increased at the highest pace on record.
Americans are struggling to afford everyday essentials as nearly everything costs more, from gas (+49.6 percent) to kitchen staples like eggs (+11.6 percent) to used cars (+26.4 percent).
There is a “growing struggle to feed families in need,” with many Americans who “wouldn’t normally need the help” turning to food pantries, only to find them “practically empty.”

BIDENFLATION IS MAKING THE HOLIDAYS MORE EXPENSIVE

With possibly one of the most expensive Thanksgivings in history only a few days away, no classic Thanksgiving staple has been spared, including the turkey (+24 percent ), rolls (+15 percent), and cranberries (+11 percent).
- Bidenflation is so bad, some experts are advising Americans to simply “forgo the turkey.”
Christmas is already shaping up to be the next holiday crushed by record prices and empty shelves.
- Presents will cost more – if they are even available to buy – while Americans are being advised to “be prepared to pay more for your Christmas tree this year.”
- Along with a more expensive holiday, heating costs this winter are also expected to wallop wallets.
- Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg even joked about how difficult it will be for families to get Christmas presents this year.

BIDEN’S SUPPLY CHAIN CRISIS IS MAKING THINGS EVEN WORSE

On top of rising prices, there’s no relief in sight from the “snarled” supply chain crisis that’s happening on Biden’s watch.
- Half a million shipping containers are stranded off the coast of Southern California, unable to unload goods because of staffing scarcity at every level, with ports operating at only 60 to 70 percent capacity.
Last month Biden promised relief by announcing a deal to open up 24/7 operations on these ports, but he has failed to deliver.
- The Port of Los Angeles has seen “few takers” on Biden’s failed implementation of "24/7" operations, and the West Coast remains jam-packed.
Instead of empowering workers and businesses to solve the problem, Biden is instead pushing vaccine mandates, regulations, and trillions in inflation-inducing spending that will only worsen the supply chain crisis.

BIDEN’S VACCINE MANDATES WILL WORSEN THE SUPPLY CHAIN CRISIS

With Biden’s supply chain crisis worsening each week, his unconstitutional vaccine mandates will only make the situation worse.
Biden’s mandates will affect more than100 million Americans and force small businesses to spend thousands of dollars each week to test their workers for COVID.
The American Trucking Association said Biden’s nationwide vaccine mandate would “cripple supply chains throughout the country.”
- American Trucking Association CEO Chris Spear, asked about how vaccine mandates will hurt the trucking industry said, “in our sample survey of our fleets, it came back as 37 percent of our drivers not only said no, but hell no.”
Small businesses around the country are already struggling with workers shortages, with the vaccine mandate expected to “exacerbate the preexisting workforce shortage.”
- New Hampshire restaurant owner Tom Boucher: “We will absolutely lose employees over this.”
- Florida small business owner Lee Crowther: “If I start losing workers over this, combined with the material supply chain shortage that this country is going through right now—it's going to be devastating.”
- Iowa small business owner Jerry Akers: “We will lose employees … It’s a struggle to get back into the workforce right now, and this is going to add one more layer.”
The truth is the Biden administration doesn’t care about the mandate’s impact on workers and small businesses.
- SBA Administrator Isabel Guzman admitted the Biden administration has not even studied the impact of Biden’s mandate on small businesses.

BIDEN’S BUILD BACK BROKE WILL CAUSE PRICES TO RISE EVEN MORE

Last week, Biden’s Build Back Broke bill passed the House despite it not being “fully paid for” as Biden promised.
Economists across the aisle have said the bill will worsen inflation:
- Manhattan Institute senior economist Brian Riedl: The bill would "fuel inflation."
- U.S. Chamber of Commerce senior economist Curtis Dubay: The bill will "undoubtedly worsen" inflation.
- The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget's Marc Goldwein: "I expect inflationary pressures" from the bill.
- Former Obama economic advisor Steven Rattner: "The administration should come clean with voters about the impact of its spending plans on inflation."
