Biden Brings Back-To-School Blues

Parents Are Feeling The Pain Of Bidenflation In Their Pocketbooks And The Consequences Of Biden’s Woke Policies In The Classroom

 BIDEN AND DEMOCRATS PUT PARENTS AND STUDENTS LAST

• Since day one, Biden has worked against the interests of parents – prioritizing the needs of teachers’ unions over the needs of students.
  • The Biden administration slow-walked school re-openings, with Biden’s CDC Director meeting with parents just once while teachers’ unions had “instant access” to her.
• Biden’s war on parents doesn’t stop there; parents are being hit by Bidenflation as back-to-school prices are on the rise.
  • School districts are also seeing dramatically higher costs for food, transportation, and school goods.
• While parents are emptying their wallets, the Biden administration is spending millions of dollars from Democrats’ $1.9 trillion spending spree on “anti-racist” and “social activism” indoctrination of children.
• While Democrats push their anti-parent agenda, Republicans are standing up for parents’ rights and fighting back against the far left’s woke curriculum.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL COSTS ARE SURGING BECAUSE OF BIDENFLATION

• This fall, parents across the nation are feeling the effects of 40-year high inflation with prices of nearly all back-to-school necessities on the rise.
• A Deloitte back-to-school survey found parents on average are expecting to spend $661 per student this year, up eight percent from 2021 and 27 percent from 2019.
  • 60 percent of parents report spending more on school supplies because prices are higher.
• Another report by analytics firm DataWeave found that back-to-school costs are up “nearly 15% on average” this season compared with a year ago.
  • The price of backpacks alone is up 12 percent.
• The Balance Editor-in-Chief Kristin Myers: “I know a lot of parents are excited to send their kids back-to-school, but just a simple thing like making your kids’ school lunches is going to cost you a lot more.”
• Illinois mother Jessica Reyes: “I feel like everything is going up these days. We’re a one-income household right now ... so I think it’s greatly affected us in all areas, in bills and in house necessities and school necessities.”
• Biden’s favorite economist, Moody’s Mark Zandi: “That’s food prices, that’s rent and that’s back-to-school supplies. So, everything’s up a lot, and it’s really biting into the purchasing power of the typical family.”

BIDEN AND DEMOCRATS STAND AGAINST PARENTS AND STUDENTS

• Biden and Democrats have taken a stand against parental involvement in schools, siding with teachers’ unions over parents and even comparing concerned parents to domestic terrorists.
• Biden’s CDC Director Rochelle Walensky admitted to changing guidance to give teachers’ unions “what they need,” prioritizing special interests over the needs of students. 
  • Walensky met with parents only one time for just 30 minutes while providing teachers’ unions “instant access” as she developed the guidance.
  • The Harvard Center for Education Policy found that students who learned remotely for the majority of 2020-2021 “on average… lost the equivalent of about 50 percent of a typical school year’s math learning during the study’s two-year window.”
  • The study also found that low income, Black, and Latino students fell further behind compared to students who are high income, White, or Asian, leading to “the largest increase in educational inequity in a generation.”
• First Lady Jill Biden even thanked teachers’ union bosses for putting the unions “first every single day” over the needs of students.

THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION HAS ALLOWED CRITICAL RACE THEORY TO FLOURISH

• Biden has incorporated CRT throughout his administration, rescinding President Trump’s executive order banning critical race theory training in the federal government on his first day in office.
• Biden’s $1.9 trillion failed “stimulus” funded his agenda of radical CRT and gender ideology teachings across the country.
  • California received $1.5 billion to “increase educator training and resources” in subjects such as “anti-bias strategies,” “environmental literacy,” “ethnic studies,” and “LGBTQ+ cultural competency.”
  • New York received $9 billion, which included funding for “staff development on topics such as culturally responsive sustaining instruction and student support practices, privilege, implicit bias, and reactions in times of stress.”
  • Illinois received $5.1 billion to re-open schools which implemented strategies with “an emphasis on equity and diversity.”
  • The University of Montana received $499,000 for “multiple programs on racial justice.”

DEMOCRATS AROUND THE COUNTRY ARE PUSHING CRT ON KIDS

• Democrats around the country are forcing divisive critical race theory curriculum onto children.
• In Democrat-run Portland, Oregon, children in kindergarten are being taught to explore the “infinite gender spectrum” and first graders are being introduced to basic “queer theory.”
  • Portland is also using CRT to divide students by race, teaching that “white people have used definitions of gender as a way to lift up whiteness.”
• The Los Angeles Unified School District is encouraging five-year-olds to experiment with gender pronouns such as “they,” “ze,” and “tree.”
  • The district also has a “trans-affirming” policy that requires teachers to use a student’s desired name and pronouns, and to keep a student’s gender identity secret from parents if desired.
• The Pennsylvania Department of Education – under the Wolf-Fetterman administration – suggests “gender neutral pronouns” for students and includes a lesson guide for “gender-neutral day” for students beginning in third grade.
  • The Democrat-led state advocates for a day where students will pick two or three ways they will reject gender stereotypes and challenge gender norms.

REPUBLICANS STAND UP FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS  

• Republicans are standing up to Democrats’ radical CRT ideology and have been champions for in-person schooling.
  • During the 2021-2022 school year, 19 of the top 20 states with the highest percentage of students learning in-person were led by Republican governors while 18 of the bottom 20 states and districts are led by Democrats.
  • This comes as 17 of the top 20 states with the best COVID response scores are led by Republican governors as well.
• Republicans are supporting the rights of parents to be involved in their children’s education across the country, while Democrats push their woke gender curriculum on students.
  • The Oklahoma State Board of Education and Gov. Kevin Stitt disciplined two Democrat-led school districts for failing to remove CRT from their curriculums.
  • Virginia Glenn Youngkin has increased funding for school choice, strengthened parental rights over their child’s education, and banned CRT from being taught in his state.
  • Florida Ron DeSantis signed a bill to allow parents to make decisions regarding the upbringing of their children and to prevent kids as young as five years old from being taught inappropriate sexual content.
  • Arizona Doug Ducey signed the most expansive school choice law in the nation, opening eligibility for the state’s education scholarship accounts to all 1.1 million K-12 students so that all Arizona families can choose the best schooling option for their kids.
