BIDEN TRAVELS TO MISSOURI WITH FAILED POLICIES

After last week’s worst jobs report of the year, Biden is traveling to Kansas City, Missouri to push his nearly $2 trillion tax-and-spend Build Back Broke agenda.
- Republican leadership in Missouri is working; the state ranks in the top twenty states with the lowest unemployment rates.
As Missourians fight Biden’s vaccine mandate, supply chain crisis, and high prices, his socialist spending agenda would only hold Missouri back from a full and resurgent recovery.

MISSOURIANS FACE HIGHER PRICES UNDER BIDEN

Under Biden, inflation is at a 31-year-high and nearly half of American households are experiencing financial hardship.
The Midwest, including Missouri, is experiencing steeper inflation than the rest of the country — consumer prices are up 6.6 percent compared to the national average of 6.2 percent.
Missouri gas prices have risen 40 percent under Biden and the median home price is up 7.5 percent since last year.
Biden’s failure to live up to his campaign promise to “shut down the virus, not the country” has resulted in labor shortages across the country, including Missouri.
- Balducci’s, a St. Louis mainstay restaurant, shuttered its doors after 46 years because they couldn’t find staff.
- A Missouri school district is now resorting to hiring its own students to fill custodial and cafeteria jobs due to Biden’s labor shortage.
On top of higher prices and labor shortages, Biden’s supply chain crisis is slamming small businesses trying to recover:
- National Federation of Independent Business State Director Brad Jones: “Problems with the supply chain on top of Missouri’s labor shortage are making it hard for small businesses to provide the goods and services people need.”
- Yolanda Cathon, owner of Rufus Red Hots: “Right now, we’re out of onion rings, we’re out of our chicken strips. Some of our signature items I’ve just removed them from the menu.”

BIDEN’S COVID VACCINE MANDATES WOULD STIFLE MISSOURI’S RECOVERY

Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandate would further stifle Missouri’s recovery, impacting over 37,000 Missouri businesses and 34 percent of the total Missouri labor force.
- These small businesses could face fines from nearly $14,000 all the way up to over $136,000 and could cost Missouri businesses at least $66 million.
The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry called Biden’s mandate “the wrong approach for business.”
Biden’s SBA Administrator Isabel Guzman admitted the Biden administration has not even studied the impact of Biden’s mandate on small businesses.

BIDEN IS FORCING HIS BUILD BACK BROKE AGENDA ON MISSOURI

Biden is forcing his failed Build Back Broke agenda on to the Show-Me State, breaking his promise not to raise taxes on the middle-class.
- Biden’s agenda would cause up to 30 percent of middle-class households to pay more taxes as soon as next year.
Meanwhile, Biden and Democrats’ plan would give the wealthy a massive tax cut by increasing the cap on the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction.
Despite Biden’s claim that Build Back Broke will “cost zero dollars,” the Congressional Budget Office, which Biden previously called the “gold standard,” estimates it would increase the U.S. deficit by $367 billion.
While Missourians are already facing higher prices, economists across the aisle warn his plan would worsen inflation.

REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP IS BRINGING BACK JOBS TO THE SHOW-ME STATE

Republican governor Mike Parson has not taken his leadership cues from Biden: as of October, nearly 80 percent of Missourians have recovered their jobs since the pandemic began.
- Missouri’s unemployment rate is currently at 3.7 percent, just shy of where it was before the pandemic.
Amid Biden’s stagnant supply chain crisis and COVID mandates, Governor Parson formed a new Missouri task force to address the ongoing supply problems.
Governor Parson was among 15 Republican Governors who signed onto the Operation Open Roads Initiative which seeks to suspend outdated regulations the Biden administration burdens supply chain players with.
