Biden Has Been Working To Undermine Parents’ Rights Since Day One, Instead Taking His Marching Orders From Teachers’ Union Bosses Like Randi Weingarten

BIDEN’S WOKE AGENDA HURTS PARENTS AND DIVIDES STUDENTS

• Today, Biden will hold an education event at the White House where he will highlight his radical education agenda.
• Biden and Democrats don’t care about children as they closed schools repeatedly, forced masks on preschoolers, limited school choice and encouraged critical race theory (CRT) in the classroom.
• Now, Biden continues to push his “woke” agenda of supporting teaching sex-ed to kindergarteners, promoting irreversible surgery, and endorsing hormone therapy for children.
• Biden’s agenda is being directly influenced by far-left union bosses like Weingarten as they continue to put union politics above educating children.

BIDEN DOES THE BIDDING OF TEACHERS’ UNION BOSSES

• Biden does not have the best interests of America’s children in mind, only the teachers’ unions that donate to him.
• The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) influenced the Biden administration’s school reopening guidance, with suggested language included almost verbatim.
  • AFT President Randi Weingarten: “They asked us for language, and we gave them language.”
• Biden’s CDC Director Rochelle Walensky admitted to changing guidance to give teachers’ unions “what they need,” prioritizing special interest groups over the needs of students. 
  • In an email to the AFT, Walensky even thanked them for their language writing, “I wanted to be certain you knew it is being worked into … the school reopening guidance.”
• Weingarten now calls to lift mask mandates for adults while keeping it in place in schools, even as she acknowledges “masks have imped[ed] learning.”

CHILDREN ARE SUFFERING DUE TO BIDEN’S UNION FIRST, STUDENTS LAST AGENDA  

• Biden’s Education Secretary Miguel Cardona said schools made the “right decision” to close schools and go virtual, leading to massive learning loss for students across the country.
• Biden’s decision contributed to students falling behind with 97 percent of educators reporting some learning loss among their students.
  • This is even worse in schools with predominantly Black students, where the share of students performing below grade level in math increased by 17 percentage points last year.
• A National Burau of Economic Research analysis shows that 19 of the top 20 states for getting kids back to in-person schooling were led by Republicans.
  • In contrast, 18 of the bottom 20 states and districts were led by Democrats.

DEMOCRATS STAND AGAINST PARENTS

• Across the Biden administration and across the country, Democrats have taken a stand against parental involvement in schools, even comparing concerned parents to domestic terrorists.
• The Biden administration had a central role soliciting and colluding with a National School Board Association letter that called for an investigation into concerned parents for possible “domestic terrorism and hate crimes,” then misled Congress about their role in this scandal.
• The Biden administration has sought to limit parental involvement in schools and oppose widely supported parental rights legislation in a number of states.
  • Biden’s own HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra even admitted he supports spending taxpayer money to fund sex reassignment surgeries on minors.
• This is happening across the country with Democrats continuing to put parents last in their children’s education.
  • In Wisconsin, the Vice Chairwoman of the state party Lee Snodgrass said parents should not “have a say” in their children’s education unless they are rich.
  • The Democrat Party of Michigan tweeted that parents should not have control over what their children are taught in school.
  • In Virginia, Democrats in the General Assembly refused to stand when Governor Glenn Youngkin said parents “have a fundamental right, enshrined in law by this General Assembly, to make decisions with regard to your child’s upbringing, education, and care.”
  • In New York, Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul re-imposed mask mandates in schools despite her refusal to wear a mask when meeting with students.

DEMOCRATS’ CURRICULUM: SEX-ED FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AND CRITICAL RACE THEORY

• Biden has incorporated CRT throughout his administration, rescinding President Trump’s executive order banning critical race theory training in the federal government on his first day in office.
• While students have been falling behind, Democrats are fundamentally changing what students are learning by pushing divisive critical race theory in the classroom.
  • In Evanston, Illinois, children are taught in pre-K through third grade about the “gender binary” established by white “colonizers,” and kids in kindergarten read two books that affirm transgender conversions.
  • In New Jersey, public school students across the state as young as 10 years old will be taught that “puberty blockers” are an acceptable way to “manage” puberty, and students as young as 7 years old must be able to define “gender, gender identity and gender role stereotypes.”
  • In Seattle, children in kindergarten will learn how math is used to “oppress and marginalize people of color” and has be used to “disenfranchise people and communities of color.”
  • Last fall in then Democrat-run Virginia, Loudin County spent $314,000 on CRT coaching for its teachers.

REPUBLICANS STAND UP FOR THE RIGHTS OF PARENTS AND FAMILIES

• As Democrats allow CRT to dominate school curriculums, 17 Republican-led states have taken action to ban CRT from being taught in public schools.
  • In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis and Republicans have stood up to the far-left to prevent children as young as 5 years old from being taught inappropriate sexual content.
  • In Virginia, Governor Glenn Youngkin has expanded parents’ rights to have a say in what their children are taught in school, and has delivered commonsense reforms to help parents retain their rights.
  • In South Dakota, Governor Kristi Noem signed legislation that restricted the teaching of “inherently divisive concepts” in public schools.
