BIDEN IGNORES THE PROBLEMS DEMOCRATS HAVE CREATED IN ILLINOIS

• Joe Biden is visiting Chicago today to promote his unconstitutional vaccine mandates that he promised the American people he would not impose.
• Instead of pushing his failed policies, Biden should address the crises that Democrat control of Illinois have created: crime, corruption, and a faltering economy.
  • This past weekend alone, 40 people were shot and at least three killed.
  • Chicago just had its deadliest September in nearly 30 years and is on track to have its highest annual murder tally in a quarter century.
• ​Under Biden and Democrats, Chicago communities are less safe, nearly everything costs more, and businesses are struggling to recover.
• The Illinoisans who will be hurt by Biden’s unconstitutional, divisive vaccine mandates are disproportionately Black and Hispanic.

BIDEN’S MANDATE WILL HURT ILLINOIS BUSINESSES AND WORKERS

• On top of undermining the vaccine and confusing the American public with mixed messaging, Biden is now pushing an unconstitutional vaccine mandate that would affect Chicago businesses with more than 100 workers.
  • Illinois already has the 7^th highest unemployment rate in the country and is in the top ten states for least jobs recovered from the pandemic.
• Businesses who defy Biden’s vaccine mandate could face penalties up to $14,000 for each violation.
  • The National Federation of Independent Business: “Additional mandates, enforcement, and penalties will further threaten the fragile small business recovery.”
• One poll found that 7 in 10 unvaccinated workers would likely quit their jobs rather than adhere to the vaccine requirement.
• On top of new and expensive overhead costs, employers are also likely to face increased lawsuits.
• Biden’s mandate could worsen labor shortages in an already struggling economy.

BIDEN IS PUSHING UNCONSTITUTIONAL MANDATES OVER THE SAFETY OF CHICAGO FAMILIES

• Under Democrat control, violent crime has surged in Chicago.
• While Biden wants to force his vaccine mandate on the Windy City, he has done nothing to stop rampant crime in Chicago.
  • More children have been victims of gun violence in Chicago than have died from COVID-19 across the entire U.S. this year.
• The last time Biden visited Illinois he paid little attention to surging crime in Chicago – although more than 100 had been shot just the weekend before.
• Because Biden failed to back the police during the 2020 election, numerous law enforcement groups broke with Biden, instead endorsing President Trump for a second term.

  • Low-income students in Chicago – whose families would be disproportionately harmed by Biden’s mandate – are falling behind in core classes like English and Mathematics.
