Biden’s Authoritarian Decrees And Socialist Policies Are Not What Hispanic Americans Believe In

BIDEN’S POLICIES ARE FAILING HISPANIC AMERICANS 

• Biden and Democrats are failing to represent the Hispanic community’s interests. 
• In just over eight months, Biden has squandered the economic recovery he inherited, with Hispanic Americans seeing high unemployment and rising prices. 
  • Under Republican leadership, the Hispanic community saw a record low unemployment rate, record high Hispanic homeownership, and record low poverty.
• At a time when Americans are paying more for “just about everything,” Biden wants to slam Americans with even more reckless taxes and spending. 
  • 62 percent of Hispanics experienced financial hardships during the pandemic, and Biden’s reckless spending would further hurt this community.
• Biden opposes “school choice” despite its benefits to the Hispanic community. 
• When Biden blames the unvaccinated for the pandemic, he is talking to Americans who are disproportionately Hispanic and Latino.
• In July, when thousands of Cubans were marching for freedom from the communist Castro regime, Biden failed to forcefully stand up for the Cuban people. 
  • As a Senator and Vice President, Biden failed to stand up to communism and socialism in South and Central America.
  • Biden voted five times against the Nicaraguan Contras and cozied up to Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro. 
• Instead of providing real solutions, all Biden can do is pander.
  • On the campaign trail, Biden played “Despacito” during a campaign stop in Florida in a phony attempt to appeal to Hispanic voters. 
  • Biden uses the woke term “Latinx” – which only one in four Latino adults have heard of and only three percent use.

HISPANIC AMERICANS REJECT BIDEN AND HIS POLICIES

• Only 38 percent of Hispanic voters approve of Joe Biden’s job performance according to the latest Quinnipiac poll. 
  • Biden lost 16 points in his job approval rating among Hispanics according to a recent Pew Research poll. 
• A majority of Hispanic voters reject Democrats’ agenda of wasteful spending, open borders, and undermining election integrity. 
  • 65 percent of Hispanic voters oppose Democrat efforts to make voter ID illegal. 
  • 80 percent agree that “public schools are failing.”
  • 72 percent agree we should take necessary action to secure our southern border. 
• A majority of Cuban American voters now identify as Republicans. 
• 55 percent of Texas Hispanic voters disapprove of Joe Biden and 66 percent disapprove of Biden’s handling of the border.

REPUBLICANS ARE COMMITTED TO THE HISPANIC COMMUNITY 

• The RNC is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by continuing to engage with the Hispanic community and welcome new members into our Party of opportunity. 
• To achieve this, the RNC is opening Hispanic Community Centers across the nation to foster relationships with the Hispanic community. 
  • Two Hispanic Community Centers have already opened in Laredo, Texas and Milwaukee, Wisconsin – with more on the way. 
• This commitment is not new, with the Republican Party having a long history of making in-roads with the Hispanic community and breaking down barriers with Hispanic leaders. 
  • In 1928, Republican Octaviano Ambrosio Larrazolo became the first Hispanic American to serve in the Senate. 
  • In 1971, President Nixon appointed the first Mexican-American woman to be Treasurer of the United States, Romana Acosta Bañuelos. 
  • Ben Fernandez, the co-founder of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly, became the first Hispanic to run for president on a major party ticket when he ran as a Republican in 1980.
  • In 1988, President Reagan appointed the first Hispanic Cabinet member, Lauro Cavazos, to serve as Secretary of Education. 
  • In 1989, Republican Ileana Ros-Lehtinen became the first Hispanic woman elected to Congress.
• Hispanic voters are flocking to the Republican party, rejecting Biden’s authoritarian decrees and socialist policies.
  • In 2020, Republicans flipped 15 Congressional seats from Democrat to Republican – in each of the seats flipped, the elected winner was either a woman or minority, with four of the seats going to Hispanic Americans.
  • President Trump won 38 percent of the Hispanic vote in 2020, a 10 point increase from 2016.
  • In 2021, a Republican was elected as mayor of McAllen, Texas, a majority Hispanic city, for the first time in 24 years.
