Today, Biden is visiting Rocky Mount, North Carolina to tout his failed economic agenda.
Biden’s visit to the Tar Heel State comes as North Carolinians face higher prices on just about everything – with Biden’s radical tax-and-spend agenda directly to blame.
North Carolina kids have also paid the price for failed Democrat leadership, with national test scores for the state’s students dropping to historic lows.
Faced with soaring crime as a result of Democrats’ pro-criminal policies, North Carolinians no longer feel safe in their own communities.
Only 39 percent of North Carolinians approve of the job Biden is doing.

TAR HEEL STATE RESIDENTS ARE FEELING THE PAIN OF DEMOCRATS’ INFLATIONARY SPENDING

Nationally, April’s Consumer Price Index rose by 4.9 percent compared to last year, remaining excessively high and well above the Fed’s average target of 2 percent.
- According to Congress’ Joint Economic Committee, inflation has cost the average North Carolina family over $8,300 since Biden took office.
North Carolina’s average gas price currently sits at $3.56 per gallon, which is more than $1 higher than when Biden became president.
- Last year, North Carolina’s average gas and diesel prices both hit new record highs under Biden.
Renters are facing soaring housing costs, with the average price of rent in the Tar Heel State increasing 28 percent since 2020.
83 percent of North Carolinians say inflation has affected a lot or some of their spending decisions.

DEMOCRAT LEADERSHIP IS FAILING NORTH CAROLINA

The unemployment rate in North Carolina is tied for 30^th in the country, trailing 20 Republican-led states.
North Carolina ranked 34^th for getting children back to in-person school during the 2020-2021 school year, while 19 of the top 20 states were led by Republicans.
- Democrat school closures had a devastating impact on children, with North Carolina students performing the worst they’ve done in more than 20 years on national math and reading tests.
These failures have led North Carolinians to reject Democrat leadership and elect Republicans up and down the ballot.
- Republicans gained a supermajorityin the North Carolina State Senate – and with Rep. Tricia Cotham recently switching to the Republican Party, Republicans now have a House supermajority as well.
- Republicans won bothstate Supreme Court races that were on the ballot, flipping the makeup of the court from a 4-3 Democratic majority to a 5-2 Republican majority.
- Republicans won all fourNorth Carolina Court of Appeals races.

DEMOCRATS’ PRO-CRIMINAL AND OPEN BORDERS AGENDA PUTS NORTH CAROLINIANS AT RISK

Biden’s visit to North Carolina comes as the state is experiencing a surge in violent crime. Last year:
- Raleigh saw its highest number of homicides since at least 1995.
- Charlotte experienced a 12 percent increase in homicides from 2021.
- Ashville saw aggravated assaults rise by 22 percent and armed robberies increase by 20 percent from 2021 to 2022.
Biden and his administration have done nothing to solve the crime waveand Biden has surrounded himself with defund the police supporters.
This has caused a lack of respect for our men and women in blue, with police departments seeing a drop in staffing as a result.
- Since June 2020, more than 140 officers have left the Asheville Police Department, with the Department facing historic staffing lows.
- The three largest city police departments in the Triad – Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and High Point – are all facing staffing shortages, down 23 percent, 12 percent, and 16 percent respectively.
Thanks to open border policies championed by Biden and Democrats, North Carolinians are facing a drug crisis across their state.
- In 2021, the Tar Heel State saw a 22 percent increase in overdose deaths, reaching a new record high for the state.
