Women Are Paying The Price For Biden’s Radical, Failed Agenda

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS A PROUD HISTORY OF FEMALE LEADERS AND CHAMPIONING WOMEN

• The Republican National Committee (RNC) under the leadership of Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel is celebrating Women’s History Month by continuing to engage with women across the country and welcome new members into our party of opportunity.
• This commitment is not new – the Republican Party has a long history of championing women’s rights, putting forward female candidates, and focusing on the issues that matter to American women:
  • In 1916, Republican Jeannette Rankin became the first woman elected to congress.
  • In 1924, Republican Bertha K. Landes became the first female mayor of a major city.
  • In 1925, Republican Mae Ella Nolan “became the first woman to chair a congressional committee.”
  • In 1948, Republican Margaret Chase Smith became the first woman to serve in both chambers of Congress and later became the first woman to be placed in nomination for the presidency at a major party convention in 1964.
  • In 1981, President Ronald Reagan appointed Sandra Day O’Connor to be the first woman to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court.
  • In 1989, Republican Ileana Ros-Lehtinen became the first Hispanic woman and Cuban American to be elected to Congress.
  • In 2001, Republican “Elaine Chao became the first Asian American woman to serve in a presidential cabinet.”
  • In 2001, Republican Condoleezza Rice became the female National Security Advisor, and in 2005 became the first Black woman to serve as U.S. Secretary of State.
  • In 2011, Republican Nikki Haley became the first female Asian American governor, and in 2017 became the nation’s first Indian American cabinet level officer.
  • In 2022, Republican Winsome Sears became the first woman and first Black woman to serve as Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor.
• Republicans also “served as the catalysts for the 19^th Amendment” and overwhelmingly supported women’s suffrage.

A RECORD NUMBER OF REPUBLICAN WOMEN ARE RUNNING AND WINNING

• In 2020, a record number of Republican women ran and won seats in Congress.
• This cycle, even more Republican women are stepping up to run, with 267 Republican women having filed to run for Congress.

BIDEN’S RADICAL POLICIES ARE FAILING WOMEN

• Biden’s radical policies have hurt women across the country, leading to women increasingly rejecting Biden – and the Democrat Party – for failing to represent them.
• Within the past two months, Biden has “seen a double-digit decline” in his approval amongst suburban women.
• Biden’s approval rating is “underwater with women” as a majority now disapprove of the job he is doing as president.
  • 40 percent of women strongly disapprove of Biden compared to only 24 percent who strongly approve.
  • 74 percent of women view the national economy in a negative light.

WOMEN ARE STRUGGLING IN BIDEN’S ECONOMY

• Women and families have suffered the economic impacts of the failing Biden economy.
• Americans are being slammed with consumer prices rising at their fastest rate in nearly 40 years, with inflation costing the average family $3,500 in 2021.
  • Moody’s Analytics, a “Wall Street” firm Biden loves to cite, found inflation is costing American families $276 per month.
• Biden promised to work for “low-income Americans,” yet 66 percent of households making under $40,000 have reported financial hardship due to inflation.
• On top of rising prices, Biden’s supply chain crisis is negatively impacting mothers.
• Across the nation, formula shortages are felt by women who are struggling to feed their babies.
  • Marisa Oliver, a mother from North Carolina said, “COVID-19, already, is stressful enough, and then you can't get what you need for your child, that's a crisis.”
  • Alex Sessa, a mother from Atlanta said, “When you're just trying to feed your baby, and you cannot find the formula anywhere."

BIDEN AND DEMOCRATS’ LOCKDOWN AGENDA HURT WOMEN

• On top of rising prices and a supply chain crisis, Biden and Democrats’ pro-lockdown policies have disproportionally impacted women.
• Biden and Democrats’ school closures forced many mothers to quit their jobs so they could stay home to care for their children who are out of school.
  • Latoya Hamilton, a single mother from New York said, “My bills have to get paid, but I can’t just leave my children unattended at home. What am I going to do?”
• When mothers did try to advocate for their children’s education, the Biden administration worked with the National School Boards Association to try and label them “domestic terrorists.”
• Biden and Democrats continued to push their pro-lockdown policies despite a rise in “adolescent girls’ emergency room visits ” for mental health issues related to “prolonged time at home.”
  • During the pandemic, emergency room visits for adolescent girls rose for depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

BIDEN’S “GENDER IDENTITY” AGENDA PUTS WOMEN LAST

• As Republicans continue to champion women’s rights, Biden has taken steps to erase the progress women have fought for.
• In his radical Build Back Broke agenda, Biden replaced the term mothers with “birthing people,” an insult to “women all across the country.”
• On top of dehumanizing women through “woke” language, Biden has taken action to end girls’ and women’s sports.
  • On his first day in office, Biden signed an executive order calling on schools across the country to allow students to compete in the sport of their “gender identity.”
  • In June, the Biden Administration extended Title IX protections to transgender students which enables biological males to compete in girls’ sports.
  • 20 states decided to sue the Biden administration in their attempt to eradicate women’s sports.
