The Crisis In Afghanistan Is Ongoing And Biden Fails To Answer To The American People

BIDEN HOLDS NO ONE ACCOUNTABLE

• Biden refused to personally take responsibility or hold any member of his team responsible for the failed Afghanistan withdrawal.
  • Secretary of State Antony Blinken lied and helped lead the “worst foreign policy catastrophe in a generation,” yet has not resigned or been fired.
  • Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin refused to appear at a hearing about Afghanistan on Tuesday and Blinken was slammed for not traveling 15 minutes to appear in person for his first hearing.
• 17 days have passed since Biden abandoned Americans in Afghanistan, with roughly 100 Americans still trapped.
  • The number of citizens, lawful permanent residents, and green card holders abandoned in Afghanistan remains in the thousands.
  • When Blinken was asked if he feels that the Biden administration abandoned Americans in Afghanistan, he responded, "no, absolutely not."

WEAK LEADERSHIP FUELED BY EMPTY RHETORIC

• Months ago, Biden said America is at an “inflection point” and that “the United States is determined … to earn back our position of trusted leadership.” 
• Since then, Biden has opened our borders to historic levels of illegal immigration, ignored the Cuban people’s calls for freedom, gifted Putin the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline, lifted sanctions on terrorist-funding Iran, softened trade restrictions on China—and drawn the ire of our allies and partners. 
• Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal caved to the Taliban, damaged America’s global standing, and left Americans in grave danger. 
• The Biden administration reportedly gave the Taliban a “kill list” of Americans and Afghan allies remaining in Afghanistan.
  • Blinken refused to provide the number of American and ally names given to the Taliban.
• The Biden administration’s messaging has been mixed, botched, and inconsistent, putting American lives at risk.

BIDEN HAS GIVEN THE TALIBAN NEW INTELLIGENCE, MILITARY, AND WEAPONS CAPABILITIES

• Under Biden’s failed leadership, America has effectively armed the Taliban.
  • Billions worth of American military equipment was left behind, which U.S. officials fear could be handed over to adversaries like China and Russia. 
  • The Taliban has seized helicopters, Humvees, Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles (MRAPs), drones, and even “anti-aircraft guns, armored tanks, and artillery.”
  • Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan admitted “a fair amount” of U.S. weapons have “fallen into the hands of the Taliban.”
• The hasty evacuation of the American embassy left an intelligence vacuum that will be exploited by extremist groups and terrorist networks, endangering Americans. 
• Terrorist groups like Al Qaeda could regenerate and pose a threat to the U.S. homeland much faster than anticipated because of Biden’s botched withdrawal. 
  • Biden’s Defense Secretary Llyod Austin said “there’s no question it will be more difficult to identify and engage” terror threats in Afghanistan.
  • Obama’s Defense Secretary Leon Panetta acknowledged that Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal has created a “national security threat.”
• The international jihadi movement is now seeing itself “reinvigorated and inspired.” 

AMERICA AND THE WORLD ARE LESS SAFE UNDER BIDEN’S LEADERSHIP

• Caving to the Taliban follows a series of other foreign policy blunders Biden has overseen putting American security last and bad actors first. He has:
  • Increased Russia’s geopolitical strength by waiving sanctions on Putin’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline while failing to stand up to Russia’s cyber aggression.
  • Blocked American energy production while pleading with foreign countries to increase oil production.
  • Refused to demand answers from China on COVID-19’s origins, even as China continues to block additional investigations.
  • Lifted trade restrictions on the Chinese telecom company Huawei which were originally put in place for security reasons.
  • Abandoned our ally Israel while lifting sanctions on Iran.
• The world has taken note, with the most recent Afghanistan debacle weakening the very transatlantic ties Biden originally claimed he would strengthen and emboldening autocrats and adversaries he promised to confront.
  • American allies, including the K., Germany, and Czech Republic have slammed Biden.
  • Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen suggested Taiwan could not rely on the U.S. anymore, saying Taiwan’s “only option is to grow stronger and become more united.”
  • Chinese propaganda outlets seized on the fall of Afghanistan as a sign that the U.S. would not defend Taiwan if attacked.
  • Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah said Biden had “accept[ed] a historic failure” and suggested it showed the U.S. is not actually committed to Israel’s security.
  • Iran and the Taliban are aiding each other with renewed trade; the Taliban is purchasing fuel from Iran, giving Iran “rare access to U.S. dollars it needs to import essential goods and bolster its depreciated currency.”
