Biden Ices Out Minnesotans

BIDEN TRAVELS TO MINNESOTA WITH MISPLACED PRIORITIES

Today, Biden traveled to Rosemount, Minnesota, where he pushed his Build Back Broke agenda that prioritizes wasteful spending over families and workers.
Under Biden and Democrat leadership, Minnesota is experiencing higher crime rates, higher prices for everyday goods, and unconstitutional vaccine mandates.
Despite this, Biden wants to spend nearly $2 trillion more on a radical tax-and-spending spree that will worsen inflation, raise taxes on the middle class, and give a tax cut to rich blue state residents.

UNDER DEMOCRATS, CRIME IS SPIKING IN MINNESOTA

Under the city’s Democrat leadership, this year Minneapolis has already surpassed last year’s murder total and is on track to match the record high of 97 from 1995.
- Just last week, mobs in Minnesota carried out large-scale smash-and-grab robberies.
- Carjackings in Minnesota have spiked 500 percent since 2019.
Biden has failed to stand up to the radicals in the Democrat party who called for defunding the police, including Minneapolis Rep. Ilhan Omar.
Biden’s Vice President Kamala Harris supports “reimagining” the police, saying putting “more police on the streets” is not the way to make communities safer.
- Harris encouraged donations to the “Minnesota Freedom Fund,” which bailed out criminals in the Twin Cities who were charged with murder, violent felonies and sex crimes.
While radical Democrats want to make our streets less safe, voters have made clear they do not support defunding the police.
- Voters in Minneapolis recently rejected a Democrat-led ballot measure to eliminate their police department after the sharp spike in violent crime.
- After Minneapolis cut $8 million from its police department, it later refunded $6.4 million following complaints of slow response times and an increase in crime.

HIGH PRICES ARE CRUSHING MINNESOTANS

With nationwide inflation at a 30-year-high, Biden’s failed economy is hitting middle America the hardest and shrinking workers' paychecks.
In Minnesota, consumer prices rose 7.3 percent last month – higher than the 6.2 percent increase nationwide.
- Housing prices are up 7.9 percent since last October.
- Used car prices, a key indicator of inflation, are up 28 percent – or nearly $6,900 – since last year.
Under Democrat Governor Tim Walz, Minnesota ranks 38^th for jobs recovered since the pandemic began.
Amid a supply chain crisis and labor shortages, heating costs this winter are expected to wallop Minnesotans’ wallets.
- Limited furnace parts due to the supply chain crisis endangers Minnesota families who could experience wind chills of 60 degrees below zero this winter.
- Natural gas – which more than 66 percent of Minnesotans use to heat their homes – is already up 80 percent from last year.
Minnesota gas prices have risen 37 percent under Biden and are up 61 percent – a $1.20 increase per gallon – from last November.
- Biden has offered minimal support for the Midwest’s Line 3 pipeline, even though the pipeline is an economic boon for northern Minnesota, providing millions in economic investment, thousands of jobs, and support for local communities across the region.

BIDEN IS FORCING VACCINE MANDATES ON THE NORTH STAR STATE

Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandate will affect more than 100 million Americans, including at least 4,800 businesses and 1.4 million employees in Minnesota.
Small businesses could face fines from nearly $14,000 all the way up to over $136,000, and may have to pay thousands of dollars each week to test their workers for COVID.
Minnesota small businesses say Biden’s mandates will be devastating.
- Employment law attorney Sara Sidwell: “It is causing a lot of heartburn. It's a fairly accelerated timeline, and there are obviously administrative and operational challenges and costs associated with both options.”
- President and Chief executive of Care Providers of Minnesota Patti Cullen: “Let's be clear — this is a potential powder keg with a short fuse. We may face a scenario where we don't have enough workers to serve the seniors in our settings. And despite our pleas for help, there are no concrete solutions — either at the state or federal levels — to help us solve our unprecedented workforce crisis.”
- President and CEO of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Doug Loon: “This adds a new level of complexity to that and burden on businesses at a time when they’re really focused on getting back to business.”
