Biden Is Failing To Shore Up Pennsylvania And Black Americans

Biden’s Base Can’t Afford Four More Years Of His Reckless Policies

THE KEYSTONE STATE IS CRUMBLING UNDER BIDEN’S ADMINISTRATION

  • Today, Biden is visiting Philadelphia for the 3rd time this year and it is his 6th visit to the state to sell his failed “Bidenomics” agenda, and launch a “coalition to shore up support with Black voters.”
  • In recent weeks Black Americans have protested Biden’s administration and voiced support for President Trump’s policies:
    • Bronx resident: Biden's "policies only HURT Black people!"
    • Morehouse College students voiced concerns about Biden’s visit: "It's just a way to get the Black vote and the young vote, and to help his election."
    • Wisconsin voter: "I didn't like hearing [Biden] now say that you're not Black if you vote Democrat. I thought that was a load of BS. I thought that was an insult."
  • Biden’s visit to the Keystone State comes as Pennsylvanians face higher prices on just about everything – with Biden’s radical tax-and-spend agenda directly to blame.
  • Only 35 percent of Pennsylvanians approve of the job Biden is doing.

BIDEN’S POLICIES HAVE LEFT BLACK AMERICANS BEHIND

  • Biden’s radical policies have hurt the Black community, leading Black voters to increasingly reject Biden – and the Democrat Party – for failing to best represent their interests.
    • A recent poll found Biden’s approval among the Black community has dropped 25 percent since 2021, while another found that just 50 percent of Black adults approve of Biden.
  • Black Americans are being left behind in Biden’s economy, burdened with higher prices and lower wages when accounting for inflation.
    • Black voters ranked inflation as their top issue in determining who to support during the recent midterm election.
    • 80 percent of Black voters have a negative view of the current economic conditions.
    • In a troubling sign for Democrats, Black voters in Representative Jamal Bowman’s (D-NY) district admit that they are dissatisfied with “Bidenomics” claiming it “hasn’t really hit them in the pocket.”
  • Wage gains have slowed dramatically for Black Americans compared to other demographic groups.
  • According to a study by the Dallas Fed, inflation is disproportionately hurting Black households, with 53.7 percent of Black Americans stressed by high inflation compared to just 43.6 percent of white Americans.
    • Black Americans bear the brunt of rising prices, as necessities make up a larger share of Black families’ budgets while Black Americans disproportionately live in food deserts and are forced to either pay higher prices at convenience stores or travel further for groceries.
  • Biden’s open border policies have allowed drugs like fentanyl to pour into American communities, further contributing to the drug epidemic.
  • As crime surges across the nation, Democrat officials are astonishingly still pushing to defund the police.
    • Only 28 percent of Black Americans support the Democrats’ defund the police policies.

BIDENOMICS IS FAILING PENNSYLVANIANS

  • Prices have risen by 17.5 percentsince Biden took office and Pennsylvanians are reeling from the lasting effects of inflation.
    • According to Congress’ Joint Economic Committee, inflation has cost the average Pennsylvania family over $914 per month more than when Biden took office.
  • The average price for a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania currently sits at $3.76, which is nearly $1 higher than when Biden took office.
    • Average gas and diesel prices in Pennsylvania both hit new record highs under Biden.
  • The median sale price of a home in Pennsylvania has jumped 31 percent in the past three years.
  • Bidenflation has caused the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board to raise prices on thousands of liquors and wines.

DEMOCRATS’ PRO-CRIMINAL AGENDA PUTS PENNSYLVANIANS AT RISK

  • Biden’s visit to Pennsylvania comes as the state is experiencing a surge in violent crime.
    • In 2022, Pittsburgh reported the highest number of homicides in a decade with 71 murders.
    • In 2022, Philadelphia recorded at least 512 homicides, slightly lower than the all-time record set the year before, but higher than any other year in at least six decades.
    • In 2022, Harrisburg saw the highest number of homicides in at least 36 years.
  • Pro-crime policies have been embraced by Pennsylvania Democrats – and crime has surged as a result.
    • Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner overhauled how his office prosecutes shoplifting, often downgrading arrests to summary offenses (akin to a traffic ticket).
      • As a result, retail theft has increased by 84 percent between 2017 and 2022.
    • Krasner’s soft-on-crime policies have allowed violent criminals to walk, with reports of several going on to commit murder.
  • The rise in crime has negatively impacted businesses throughout the state, causing Pennsylvania to lose out on economic opportunity.
    • Pittsburgh’s Carson City Saloon owner Brian Vetere recently closed his bar temporarily, saying, “It’s the Wild West on the streets of South Side now and it’s just getting bad … to the point that I’m scared to walk out the front door between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m.”
    • During Biden’s administration, Wawahas fled Center City Philadelphia – with seven store closures since 2020 – due to continued safety and security concerns.
  • Biden and his administration have done nothing to solve the crime waveand Biden has surrounded himself with “defund the police” supporters.
  • This has caused a lack of respect for our men and women in blue, with police departments seeing a drop in staffing as a result.
    • The Philadelphia Police Department is crucially understaffed, down about 836 officers.
    • The Pittsburgh Police Department is nearly 250 officers short of 2020 levels, and is struggling to attract new talent.
