Despite Claiming He Was Never Involved In His Son’s Business Deals, There Is Indisputable Evidence Joe Biden Has Met With Hunter’s Business Partners On Numerous Occasions

BIDEN HAS REPEATEDLY LIED ABOUT HIS INVOLVEMENT IN HIS SON’S BUSINESS DEALINGS

• Despite mounting evidence, Biden continues to deny he ever discussed his family’s business dealings, let alone met with his son’s business partners.
  • Biden has repeated this lie, not one, not two, not three, not four, but at least five times. 
• To date, Biden has met with at least 14 of Hunter’s business associates over 16 occasions between 2010 and 2018.

JOE BIDEN MET WITH HUNTER BIDEN’S MEXICAN BUSINESS ASSOCIATES

• In February 2014, Joe Biden had lunch in the West Wing with Hunter’s Mexican business associates, Miguel Aleman Velasco and Miguel Aleman Magnani, and was pictured giving them a tour of the White House press briefing room.
  • At the time of the meeting, Hunter, Velasco, and Magnani were in the process of striking a deal to invest in Pemex, a Mexican oil and gas company.
• In October 2015, Hunter set up a phone call between Joe Biden and Carlos Slim, another Mexican billionaire and business partner in the Pemex deal.
  • Around this time, Hunter was also seeking Slim’s investment in ePlata, a payroll processing company.
• In November 2015, Joe Biden hosted Hunter, Magnani, Velasco, and Slim at the Naval Observatory – the Vice President’s residence – in Washington, D.C.

JOE BIDEN MET WITH HUNTER’S AMERICAN BUSINESS ASSOCIATES MULTIPLE TIMES

• In July 2010, Joe Biden spoke over the phone with Hunter’s longtime business associate, Eric Schwerin, regarding his personal finances.
  • At the time, Schwerin was serving as president of Rosemont Seneca, the investment firm Hunter Biden co-founded in 2009.
• Between 2009 and 2016, Schwerin visited the White House at least 27 times.
• In November 2010, Joe Biden met with Schwerin in the White House.
• In April 2011, Chris Heinz visited Joe Biden in the West Wing according to White House visitor logs.
  • Heinz, the stepson of John Kerry and Hunter’s co-founder of Rosemont Seneca, served as a top executive at the firm with Hunter.
• In April 2014, Joe Biden met with Devon Archer in the White House.
  • Archer co-founded Rosemont Seneca with Chris Heinz and Hunter Biden in 2009.
  • Six days after this meeting with Biden, Archer joined the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company.
  • Weeks later, Hunter followed in Archer’s footsteps and joined the board of Burisma.
• In August 2014, Joe Biden, Hunter, and Devon Archer golfed together in the Hamptons.
  • At the time of the photo, Hunter Biden and Devon Archer were both serving on the board of Burisma.
• In February 2016, Hunter and Jeff Cooper, one of Hunter’s business associates, joined Joe Biden on a flight to Mexico City for a business trip aboard Air Force Two.
  • At the time, Hunter and Cooper were in the midst of brokering a “gigantic” deal with the Aleman family to profit from the privatization of Pemex and were pursuing additional ventures with Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim.
  • Cooper also attended the November 2015 meeting between Joe Biden, Hunter, Velasco, Magnani, and Slim at the Naval Observatory.
  • Cooper had previously worked on a 2006 deal with Hunter and James Biden – Joe’s brother – to buy hedge fund Paradigm, and his former law firm – SimmonsCooper – had donated roughly $200,000 to Biden’s campaigns from 2001 to 2008.
• In May 2016, Joe Biden met with Schwerin at a “trendy Italian restaurant” in Washington, D.C.
• In September 2016, Joe Biden attended a fundraiser in South Carolina for Francis Person, one of Hunter’s business associates and Biden’s former advisor, who at the time was running for Congress.
  • Person was president of the Harves Group, a Chinese government-linked real estate development firm, at this time.
  • Shortly before the September fundraiser, Person, Hunter, and Schwerin were discussing a deal to “build NBA branded stadiums around China.”
  • As recently as March 2017, Rosemont Seneca Advisors held financial interests in multiple Harves affiliates.
  • In addition to the meeting with Biden, Person visited the White House at least seven times after he went to work for the China-backed Harves Century Group.
• In May 2017, Joe Biden met twice with Tony Bobulinski, the CEO of a Biden family business venture in China.
  • On May 2, Bobulinski met the former vice president in Beverly Hills, California where he said it was “crystal clear” Joe Biden was aware of his family’s business dealings.
  • The following day, Bobulinski spoke with Biden a second time following his speech at the Global Milken Conference.
• In June 2018, Joe Biden texted Hunter saying that he had met with Jeff Cooper and that Cooper wanted to “do some work” with him.

HUNTER INTRODUCED JOE BIDEN TO HIS CHINESE BUSINESS PARTNER

• In December 2013, Hunter flew with his father aboard Air Force Two to Beijing where he introduced him to Jonathan Li, a Chinese businessman.
  • Hunter Biden served on the board of BHR Partners, an investment fund Jonathan Li and Devon Archer formed in November 2013 which involved Bohai Capital, a firm linked to the Chinese government.
  • Joe Biden wrote college letters of recommendation for Li’s son and daughter.

JOE BIDEN MET WITH HUNTER’S LATIN AMERICAN BUSINESS ASSOCIATES

• In March 2012, Joe Biden met with Andres Pastrana Arango, the former president of Colombia, at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C.
  • At the time, Hunter was discussing with Arango a potential “opportunity” he had lined up with OAS, a Brazilian construction company.
• In June 2014, Hunter Biden set up a meeting between Manuel Estrella and his father.
  • Estrella wanted to invest in a “new hotel” in Haiti by partnering with Rosemont Seneca, Hunter’s investment firm.
  • Following the June 2014 meeting, Estrella emailed Hunter, thanking him for organizing a meeting with Joe Biden.

JOE BIDEN ATTENDED A DINNER WITH HUNTER’S UKRAINIAN AND KAZAKHSTANI BUSINESS ASSOCIATES

• In April 2015, Joe Biden met with Hunter’s Ukrainian and Kazakhstani business associates at Café Milano, a prominent Washington, D.C. restaurant.
  • Vadym Pozharskyi, who at the time was serving as a top executive at Burisma, attended the meeting and emailed Hunter the following day thanking him for the “opportunity to meet” his father.
  • Michael Karloutsos, with whom Hunter “had been discussing a business deal in Greece involving eco-friendly trains from China,” attended the dinner. 
• Two of Hunter’s Kazakhstani business associates reportedly attended the dinner where they were allegedly photographed with Hunter and Joe Biden.
• Representatives from the World Food Program USA, which Hunter was on the board of at the time, were also in attendance, emailing Hunter afterwards to thank him for the “productive evening.”​
  • Devon Archer also joined the dinner.
• Hunter invited additional business associates, although it is unclear whether they ultimately attended.
  • Yelena Baturina, a Russian billionaire who wired $3.5 million in February 2014 to Rosemont Seneca, and her husband, the corrupt former mayor of Moscow Yury Luzhkov, were included on the guest list.
  • A Mexican ambassador was also invited to the dinner.
