For Months, Biden And His Team Promised They Would Not Force A Vaccine Mandate, Saying They Did Not Have The Power To Do So

BIDEN THREATENS AMERICAN FREEDOM WITH GOVERNMENT COERCION

• For months, the Biden administration repeatedly said it did not have the power to impose nationwide vaccine mandates, with Biden’s team saying such actions would be unprecedented, likely illegal, and an invasion of privacy.
• Despite these previous comments, Biden has now ordered an unconstitutional vaccine mandate that will affect more than 100 million Americans.
• This egregious affront to constitutionality, freedom, and unity is built on Biden’s lies and broken promises to the American people.
  • Biden campaigned on the promise that he would “shut down the virus,” get answers on the pandemic’s origins, and not make vaccines mandatory – none of which he has followed through on.
• Biden once promised “unity,” but categorically showed his true colors with a chilling, draconian speech filled with divisive rhetoric.

FOR MONTHS, THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION AND DEMOCRAT LEADERSHIP PROMISED NO VACCINE MANDATE

• In December, Biden promised Americans that he would not impose vaccine mandates, saying, “I don’t think [the vaccine] should be mandatory. I wouldn't demand it to be mandatory.”
• In May, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said, “we are not currently considering federal mandates” for vaccines and that she “wouldn’t anticipate that we’d be putting [vaccine] requirements” on the private sector.
  • In July, Psaki said a nationwide vaccine mandate was “not a decision” for the federal government and was not the Biden administration’s “intention.”
  • In July, when asked if the government should issue mandates, Psaki said, “that’s not the role of the federal government.”
  • Four days later, Psaki again confirmed: “Can we mandate vaccines across the country? No, that’s not a role that the federal government, I think, even has the power to make.”
• In July, White House coronavirus response coordinator Jeff Zients said a federal vaccine mandate was “not an authority that we’re exploring at all.”
• In August, Education Secretary Miguel Cardona said vaccine mandates are “not what we do at the federal level.” 
• In July 2020, Anthony Fauci said national vaccine mandates would be “encroaching upon a person’s freedom to make their own choice of their own health.”
  • In August 2020, Fauci said, “you cannot force someone to take a vaccine” and that he didn’t think “you’ll ever see a mandating of vaccine” for the general public.
  • In November, Fauci said he did not believe a vaccine mandate was “going to come centrally.”
  • In December, Fauci said, “I doubt very seriously if it will be a central federally government mandated vaccination.”
  • In January, Fauci said there would not be a federal vaccine mandate because “we almost never mandate things federally” with regards to health.
  • In January, Fauci doubted a vaccine would be federally mandated and that he didn’t think the federal government would tell states to mandate a vaccine either.
  • In April, Fauci said a vaccine is “not gonna be mandated from the federal government.”
  • In July, Fauci said it is “extremely unlikely” that there will be a “central federal mandate for vaccines.”
  • Last month, Fauci said “you’re not going to see a central [vaccine] mandate coming from the federal government.”
  • Three days later, Fauci said that it is “no secret that I feel that we should not have central mandates from the federal government.”
• In May, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said, “we’re not counting on vaccine mandates at all” and that vaccine mandates will not be “federally driven.”
  • In May, Walensky said, “we’re not planning any vaccine mandates.”
  • In July, Walensky tweeted that “there will be no federal mandate” regarding vaccines.
• In July, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy said “you won’t see” a federal vaccine mandate because “this is a decision that historically has not come from the federal government.”
  • Two weeks later, Murthy said vaccine mandates “are decisions that the federal government is not going to make.”
• In April, Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “we cannot require someone to be vaccinated.”
