Biden Visits The Beaver State Where His Failed Policies Have Left Oregonians With Rising Prices And No Relief In Sight

OREGON IS SUFFERING UNDER BIDEN

• Today, Biden is going to Portland, Oregon to push his radical “Build Back Broke” agenda.
  • Biden will be welcomed by failed Democrat Governor Kate Brown, whose approval rating at 43 percent shows how unpopular Democrats’ agenda is among Oregonians.
  • Oregonians reject Biden as well, with his approval rating at a dismal 42 percent in the state.
• Biden’s visit to Oregon comes as violent crime is spiking, with Portland already outpacing 2021’s record number of homicides.
• Biden does not care about the hardship Oregonians are facing amid rising prices and some of the highest gas prices in the nation.

CRIME SURGES ACROSS OREGON DUE TO DEMOCRATS’ “DEFUND THE POLICE” AGENDA

• Biden’s visit to Portland comes as the city is experiencing a surge in violent crime as his administration has done nothing to solve the crime wave and Biden surrounds himself with defund the police supporters.
• Democrats’ radical “defund the police” policies have led to record crime across Oregon.
• In 2020, Portland Democrats cut police funding by over $15 million leading to record homicides in the city.
  • The city was forced to refund the police last year because “many Portlanders no longer feel safe.”
• In 2021, Portland experienced an even larger surge in violent crime with a new record 92 homicides. 
• The Portland Police Bureau is now facing historic staffing gaps and declining morale due to a “lack of support” from the Democrat-run city government.
  • The Portland Police Bureau is “down to a historic low” of around 780 officers to protect a city of more than 650,000 people.
• Sheriffs are warning of surging violent crime saying, “without action, we can expect worse to come” as the city is “on track to break last year’s record for homicides.”
• 63 percent of Portland small businesses report having been broken into or vandalized in the past six months.
• Governor Brown and Oregon Democrats have also implemented other soft-on-crime policies such as decriminalizing drugs.

BIDENFLATION IS HURTING OREGON FAMILIES

• As Oregon families and small businesses are suffering from surging crime, Democrats’ inflationary agenda has added to the pain felt across the state.
• Nationally, March’s Consumer Price Index surged by 8.5 percent compared to last year.
  • Oregon has seen costs rise faster than the national average, with consumer prices in the west rising by 8.7 percent since last year.
  • Inflation is costing the average Oregon family $454 per month according to an estimate from Congress’ Joint Economic Committee.
• Last month, the average gas price in Oregon hit a new record high of $4.74 a gallon – among the highest in the nation.
  • Democrats in Oregon enacted a carbon fuel standard, raising the price of gas in the state by 5 cents per gallon in 2021 amid already rising gas prices.
• Because of rising prices, real wages for Oregon workers are falling and their paychecks are worth less.
• Oregon’s farmers and ranchers are being hit especially hard by rising Bidenflation as they struggle to keep up with the cost of failed Democrat policies.

GOVERNOR KATE BROWN IS PUSHING RADICAL “WOKE” POLICIES

• Oregonians recognize that Biden and Democrats are failing their state.
  • A November poll showed Kate Brown as the “least popular governor in America.”
• The unemployment rate in Oregon is tied for 30th in the country, trailing 22 Republican-led states.
• Brown received a “C” in her pandemic response with 52 percent of Oregon residents disapproving of her pandemic policies.
  • Oregon ranked 49^th for getting children back to in person school during the 2020-2021 school year, while 19 of the top states were led by Republicans. 
• Oregon small businesses and farmers are struggling as Brown enacted cap and trade rules, meaning higher costs that will get passed along to farmers.
• In 2021, Brown sent a letter to all state employees outlining “new and forthcoming changes” in the government based upon fundamental critical race theory (CRT) principles. 
• Brown also signed a bill that dropped the requirement for students to show “basic competency in reading, writing” and math to receive a high school diploma in the name of “racial justice.”
• Brown has advocated for Biden and Democrats’ attempts to eviscerate election integrity.
• In the name of “climate change” Brown has “allowed wildfires to sweep through the state” by refusing to clean up forests and implement policies such as controlled burns which would reduce wildfires.
