Biden’s Border Crisis Worsened In November

More Than 173,000 Illegal Immigrants Were Apprehended Crossing The Southern Border Last Month, The Highest Total For November In The Department Of Homeland Security’s History

BIDEN’S BORDER CRISIS CONTINUES TO RAGE

• The crisis at the southern border continues to worsen with more than 173,000 illegal immigrants apprehended last month according to preliminary reporting.
  • That’s the highest total for November in the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) history.
  • This is a 140 percent increase over last November and a 221 percent increase from the average number of November apprehensions during the Trump administration.
• Nearly 1.8 million illegal immigrants have been caught attempting to cross the border since Biden took office.
  • More illegal immigrants have crossed the southern border in the last three months than in all of FY 2020 – President Trump’s last full fiscal year. 
  • The number of illegal crossings at the border has risen at a faster rate under Biden than at any time in recent history.
• These numbers do not include the number of illegal immigrants that Border Patrol tracked but were unable to apprehend, known as “gotaways.”
  • According to internal Border Patrol statistics, more than 273,000 illegal immigrants escaped into the U.S. without being caught during the Biden administration’s first seven full months in office.
  • Border Patrol agents estimate an additional 100,000 illegal immigrants have escaped in October and November, bringing that total to more than 373,000 “gotaways” under Biden so far.
  • If this trend continues, more than 600,000 illegal immigrants will escape into the U.S. this fiscal year.

CRIME AND DRUG SMUGGLING ARE ON THE RISE

• Illicit drugs are flowing into the country at an alarming rate, with thousands of pounds of deadly fentanyl and methamphetamine being seized at the southern border.
  • The Texas Department of Public Safety announced it seized an additional 886 pounds of fentanyl this year that Border Patrol was unable to catch – enough to kill more than 200 million people.
• As the number of illegal immigrants continue to reach historic levels, crime is surging thanks to Biden’s open border policies.
• Illegal immigrants with long criminal histories, including sexual assault and murder, are illegally entering the U.S. under Biden’s watch.
• Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector have already arrested more than 300 illegal immigrants who are gang members or were previously convicted of a crime in the U.S. since the fiscal year started in October.

BIDEN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR A HUMANITARIAN CRISIS AT THE BORDER

• Biden’s open border policies aren’t compassionate, they are deadly.
• A mother and daughter from Mission, Texas were killed in a car crash when a human smuggler attempting to evade law enforcement crashed into them at high speed.
• Border Patrol recently found yet another toddler alone on the banks of the Rio Grande.
• Last week, 54 were killed and more than 100 injured when a truck loaded with migrants flipped over at high speed and crashed into a bridge in southern Mexico.
• As drugs continue to pour over the border under Biden, fentanyl has become the leading cause of death among teens in Pima County, Arizona.

THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION PUTS BORDER ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS LAST

• The Biden administration has refused to take strong action to address the border crisis, leaving Border Patrol agents feeling abandoned. 
• Customs and Border Protection agents were dismayed when Senate Democrats recently confirmed Biden’s CBP Commissioner Chris Magnus.
  • One agent said Magnus is “pretty much hated, especially by those of us in the Tucson Sector since we know him … Somehow he has made a career off of hating law enforcement. He destroyed TPD [Tucson Police Department] and will do the same to CBP as a whole.”
  • Another agent said “Morale within Border Patrol is so low we expect absolutely nothing different than the elevation and appointments of people that are against a secure border … Magnus is just par for the course under this administration.”
• Agents in some sectors are no longer patrolling the border, instead stuck processing the thousands of illegal immigrants who are willingly giving themselves up to seek asylum.
• The Yuma Sector, which has far less infrastructure than Del Rio, is now overwhelmed by a massive surge of migrants, with 4,000 illegal immigrants captured in one weekend.
  • In October, Border Patrol arrested nearly 22,000 illegal immigrants in Yuma – a 1,200 percent increase from January 2021.
  • The Mayor of Yuma declared a state of emergency due to the massive amount of illegal immigrants roaming the streets of Yuma looking to be arrested by Border Patrol.

BIDEN WANTS VACCINE MANDATES FOR AMERICANS, BUT NOT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

• Biden is pushing an unconstitutional vaccine mandate that will affect more than 100 million Americans, and is requiring extensive testing for all those traveling to the U.S. legally.
• While these restrictions are in place for American citizens, this is not the case for illegal immigrants as, “they’re not intending to stay here for a lengthy period of time.”

BIDEN’S OPEN BORDERS POLICIES ARE FAILING

• Biden’s failed policies created the crisis at our southern border.
  • In Biden’s first 100 days in office he took more than 94 executive actions on immigration, including halting construction of the border wall and ending the Trump administration’s successful “Remain in Mexico” policy.
  • Illegal immigrants are thanking Biden for his weak immigration policies, saying that they “didn’t even want to try” crossing the border when Trump was president.
• Biden is again allowing federal funding for sanctuary cities that openly refuse to help border officials and impede the work of ICE.
  • This has come to a head as an illegal immigrant has been charged with 11 accounts of sexual assault in New York for serial abuse of multiple women; rather than deport him Democrat-run New York will allow him to face trial in the state without fear of deportation.
• Biden has not been to the border as president to see the crisis for himself, and other than a brief drive-by, there is still no record that Biden has ever visited the border.
• While Biden’s appointed Border Czar Kamala Harris claims she is focused on the “root causes” of illegal immigration, she has only spoken to the Guatemalan president once since she took on that role.
  • Biden’s open border policies have encouraged illegal immigration from around the world, not just the northern triangle, with November seeing more than 20,000 Venezuelans apprehended at the border – a 54 percent increase from October.
• 55 percent of voters believe Biden is doing too little to reduce illegal immigration.
