BIDEN’S POOR LEADERSHIP IS CONFUSING AMERICANS

• Biden and Democrats continue to confuse the American people with their COVID-19 response, repeatedly bungling the messaging, suddenly reversing policies, and hypocritically violating their own mandates and restrictions.

• With Biden’s mixed messages, its no wonder polls show his approval rating on COVID-19 is plummeting.

BIDEN HAS FLIP-FLOPPED ON COVID GUIDANCE

• For months leading up to the election, Biden sowed doubt and undermined confidence in the vaccine – even questioning whether it would be “real.” 
  • Once in office, Biden and his administration pivoted completely, falsely claiming credit for the vaccine program they inherited.
• On the campaign trail, Biden baselessly expressed skepticism as to whether the vaccines would go through all the necessary tests and trials, but now tells Americans that they shouldn’t think the vaccine was rushed.
• Biden continues to give COVID guidance despite telling the public to “listen to what the scientists say, not the politicians, and I’m a politician, I know.”
  • However, when asked why the White House was not providing doctors to answer COVID-specific questions, Principal Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responded that they got to hear from Biden, “a trusted voice” and “leader of our country,” for “more than 30-minute[s].”
• The Biden administration’s wildly inconsistent guidance on mask-wearing continues to confuse the American public.
  • In May, Biden said that “if you are fully vaccinated, you no longer need to wear a mask,” but in July suggested wearing masks indoors even if fully vaccinated. 
  • In August 2020, Biden said that Americans should wear masks for just 3 months, but then in January said another 100 days. 
• Biden lied about how he would handle the economy, saying before the election he would not shut it down, but has since slow-walked a return to normal. 
  • In August of last year, Biden said he would be willing to shut down the country if the scientists recommended it, saying “I would shut it down.”
  • Biden later walked back his statement, saying “I’m not going to shut down the economy” and that a nation-wide shutdown “would be counterproductive.”
  • However, less than two weeks ago, Biden’s Principal Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to rule out future nationwide lockdowns or school closures.
  • A day later, Biden said that “in all probability” more restrictions are on the way.

ITS NOT JUST BIDEN – HIS ADMINISTRATION CAN’T GET THEIR MESSAGE STRAIGHT

• Last week, National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins indicated that parents should wear masks at home in front of their unvaccinated kids even though “it seems weird.”
  • Collins later cleaned up his remarks, admitting they were “garbled” and said there is “no need” to wear masks at home around unvaccinated kids.
  • Collins’ comments came days after Biden’s Surgeon General Vivek Murthy suggested parents wear masks at home.
• In June, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said “if you are vaccinated, you are safe from the variants that are circulating here in the United States,” yet the Biden administration is now pushing mandatory vaccines and vaccine passports. 
  • Biden even went so far as to make an ultimatum: “If you want to do business with the federal government, get your workers vaccinated.” 

MORE RESTRICTIONS ON AMERICAN CITIZENS THAN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

• While Biden threatens civil liberties and pushes mask mandates and government-enacted vaccine passports, his administration is releasing COVID-positive illegal immigrants into local communities. 
  • In McAllen, Texas, alone, the Biden administration released over 7,000 COVID-positive illegal immigrants since February. 
  • Press Secretary Jen Psaki even admitted the Biden administration is releasing COVID-positive illegal immigrants into McAllen.
