Biden Pledged To “Shut Down The Virus,” But Now Says “There Is No Federal Solution” To Record High Covid Cases, Spiking Hospitalizations, And A Testing Shortage He Has Overseen

BIDEN FAILED TO “SHUT DOWN” COVID

Biden campaigned on the promise that he would “shut down the virus,” however more Americans have died from COVID in 2021 than in 2020, when a COVID vaccine was not widely available.
- Under Biden, the U.S. continues to break records for the “highest single day total” of confirmed cases since the pandemic began.
- As cases surge, Americans are struggling to find tests and forced to wait in long lines to get tested if they can even get one.

Now that he’s failed, Biden is claiming “there is no federal solution” to the pandemic after months of promising to “end this.”

BIDEN’S TESTING MESS

During the campaign, Biden claimed he had a plan to “beat COVID-19,” with the top priority being to “ensure all Americans have access to regular, reliable, and free testing.”
As president, Biden repeatedly promised Americans that his administration would expand the availability of tests.
- In January, Biden promised “a war footing to aggressively speed up our COVID-19 response, especially on vaccines and testing and reopening our schools.”
- In February, Biden promised his administration would “expand COVID-19 testing, improve the availability of tests, and better prepare for the threat of variants.”
- In March, Biden said his administration would “work on making at-home testing available.”
- In September, Biden promises to increase production and accessibility of rapid tests.
- In December, Biden said “this winter, we are going to make free at-home tests more available to Americans than ever before.”
In reality, the Biden administration repeatedly turned down proposals to expand testing.
- In the spring, the White House “never followed up” on a proposal to purchase millions of rapid tests.
- In October, the Biden administration rejected a proposal for “free rapid tests for the holidays.”
- In early December, the White House Press Secretary mocked and dismissed sending at-home test kits to all Americans.
- Biden even admitted he should have ordered tests “months ago.”
Now, Americans are facing a national test shortage, “waiting hours” in “relentless lines” for tests as COVID cases skyrocket.
- Despite this, Biden said he does not consider it a “failure” that Americans can’t find tests.
Biden was wholly unprepared for this latest COVID variant, announcing that 500 million tests will be sent out in January, only after America started experiencing a testing shortage.
- The contract has yet to be signed for these 500 million COVID tests.
- This comes after Biden broke his promise of an additional 300 million tests three months ago.

AMERICANS ACROSS THE COUNTRY ARE STRUGGLING TO GET TESTED

Biden’s testing crisis is a burden to families and businesses across the country.
In Chicago, COVID test shortages have forced Chicagoans to get tested at “unregulated pop-up sites” where results never come in.
- Some Chicagoans say they have “no options for getting tested in their neighborhood.”
Local pharmacies like ones in Wisconsin are struggling to keep at-home-tests on shelves.
New York City resident Jordan Thomas waited nearly four hours to be tested, saying “not everyone can take three hours off work to get tested.”
Police in Atlanta were forced to “shut down testing sites as traffic backed up a half-mile or more.”
A mother in California said she can’t find rapid tests to see if her child has caught COVID, saying “it’s frustrating not being able to get testing when we’re so far into this pandemic.”
Hospitals in Oklahoma are now issuing rapid tests “sparingly” as “they don’t have enough rapid COVID-19 tests to keep up the skyrocketing demand.”
When Americans can find a test, it can cost up to $389 to receive same-day results, otherwise it can take nearly a week.
- This comes as America “lags behind other countries in making tests affordable.”

AMERICANS ARE PAYING THE PRICE FOR BIDEN’S FAILURES

As cities across America break case “records,” schools and businesses are once again shutting down despite Biden’s promise to respond and recover “better.”
Over 2,000 U.S. flights have been canceled due to COVID staffing shortages, leaving thousands stranded.
The nation is again facing a “disposable mask shortage” due to Biden’s supply chain crisis, despite Biden’s campaign priority to increase personal protective equipment.
