BIDEN WANTS TO ADD TO OBAMACARE’S FAILURES

• In an attempt to distract from his many other failures, including 40-year high inflation, record high gas prices, and a border crisis, Biden is now pivoting to another policy failure – Obamacare.
• Today, two failed presidents joined forces to once again push their Obamacare agenda onto the American people.
  • Obamacare sent health insurance costs through the roof, raised taxes on the middle class, and forced employers to cut jobs and hours.
• Biden wants to bring back Obamacare’s individual mandate, forcing Americans to buy health insurance they do not want.
• Biden’s Build Back Broke agenda would force Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion onto 12 states that chose not to adopt it.
  • This nearly $2 trillion tax-and-spending spree would extend Obamacare subsidies that mainly benefit the rich and force pro-life taxpayers to pay for abortion.
  • This bill would also cut spending on drug research and development by about 18.5 percent – leading to potentially 135 fewer lifesaving drugs coming to market.

BIDEN WILL RAISE COSTS ON FAMILIES USING OBAMA’S FAILED TACTICS

• Biden’s health care plan is “more ambitious than Obamacare” and “goes far beyond” the devastating impact that Obamacare had on the U.S. economy.
• Biden plans to bring back the individual mandate that fined Americans for failing to have health care coverage they did not want.
  • This mandate was “consistently viewed as unfavorable by the public.”
  • When the individual mandate was last in effect in 2016, nearly five million Americans were forced to pay the individual mandate penalty costing nearly $3.6 billon – 77 percent of these taxpayers earned less than $50,000 a year.
• Biden’s expansion of Obamacare’s eligibility cap for subsidies would drive up health care costs and overwhelmingly benefit  Americans making over six-figures.
• Biden is interested in a public option for health care that will “crowd out” private insurance and will likely cause employers to drop their insurance coverage.

HEALTH CARE COSTS WILL ONLY RISE UNDER BIDEN

• Despite Biden’s claim that he will “bring down health care costs,” Democrats are proposing massive increases to the administrative state that will expand the government’s role in health care and cost more than $11 billion over the next ten years.
• Biden discontinued the Trump administration’s rule that limited costs for insulin and epinephrine for those without insurance.
• Biden’s Build Back Broke bill would discourage drug innovation by up to 18.5 percent while also creating limitations for generic drug manufacturers from coming to market.
• The Biden administration rejected a proposal from Georgia that would expand Medicare with a work requirement to more than 50,000 Georgians.
• This all comes as Biden’s proposals have caused the largest ever Medicare Part B premium increase – hitting Americans wallets amid already high inflation.
