BIDEN WANTS TO PUNISH AMERICANS FOR HIS FAILURE

• For months, the Biden administration repeatedly said it did not have the power to impose nationwide vaccine mandates, with Biden’s team saying such actions would be unprecedented, likely illegal, and an invasion of privacy.
• Despite these previous comments, Biden has now released an unconstitutional vaccine mandate that will affect more than 100 million Americans.
  • This mandate will impact small businesses across the country that are already struggling with a worker shortage and supply chain crisis.
  • Small businesses with less than 100 workers aren’t in the clear either, as the Biden administration is leaving the door open to expanding the mandate to cover them.
• This divisive and unconstitutional decree is built on Biden’s broken promises and lies to the American people.
• Biden campaigned on the promise that he would “shut down the virus,” get answers on the pandemic’s origins, and not make vaccines mandatory – none of which he has followed through on.

BIDEN’S VACCINE MANDATE WILL BE COSTLY TO WORKERS AND SMALL BUSINESSES

• Small businesses could face fines from nearly $14,000 all the way up to over $136,000.
• Under the mandate, small businesses may have to spend thousands of dollars each week to pay to test their workers for COVID.
• Workers may even have to pay for their own tests, since there is no requirement for businesses to provide or pay for COVID tests.

BIDEN’S VACCINE MANDATE WILL WORSEN THE SUPPLY CHAIN CRISIS AND COST WORKERS THEIR JOBS

• Biden’s vaccine mandate will worsen his worker shortage and supply chain crisis.
• Biden’s vaccine mandate does not include a carve-out for truckers – who already face major driver shortages – meaning the supply chain crisis would get even worse. 
• The American Trucking Association said a nationwide mandate could lead to up to 13 percent of truck drivers leaving their jobs and “cripple the supply chain throughout the country.”
• Some trucking companies are already considering stopping their work for the federal government over Biden’s vaccine mandate for government contractors.
• Reports show that 72 percent of unvaccinated workers will leave their jobs if they are required to get vaccinated.
  • This would mean up to 9 percent of current workers would leave their jobs.

BIDEN’S MANDATE IS AN ATTACK ON HEALTHCARE WORKERS

• Many frontline healthcare workers would be forced to get the vaccine or possibly lose their jobs.
• Medical exemptions must be documented, meaning they will be exceedingly rare.
• The mandate requires that 17 million frontline healthcare workers to be vaccinated by January 4^th, with no option to receive weekly testing.
  • This includes employees at 76,000 healthcare facilities in the U.S.

BUSINESSES CALL THE MANDATE “UNNECESSARY AND UNHELPFUL”

• The National Retail Federation said this mandate could “exacerbate the preexisting workforce shortage.”
• The National Federation of Independent Businesses: Biden’s mandate “restricts the freedom of small business owners to decide how best to operate their own businesses and imposes unwarranted burdens on small businesses that further threaten the small business recovery.”
• The Retail Industry Leaders Association called the fines “unnecessary and unhelpful—it pits government against private workers.”
• The Job Creators Network said the mandate would “exacerbate what’s already the worst labor shortage in recorded U.S. history” and “shrink the pool of job applicants available for hiring.”
• Many small businesses will now be forced to keep workers that are not tested out of the workplace, forcing them to police employees in ways like never before.

BIDEN BROKE HIS PROMISE TO NOT IMPOSE A VACCINE MANDATE

• Biden and his administration lied; they repeatedly said they would not impose a vaccine mandate.
• In December, Biden promised Americans that he would not impose vaccine mandates, saying, “I don’t think [the vaccine] should be mandatory. I wouldn't demand it to be mandatory.”
• In May, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said, “we are not currently considering federal mandates” for vaccines and that she “wouldn’t anticipate that we’d be putting [vaccine] requirements” on the private sector.
• In July, White House coronavirus response coordinator Jeff Zients said a federal vaccine mandate was “not an authority that we’re exploring at all.”
• In August, Education Secretary Miguel Cardona said vaccine mandates are “not what we do at the federal level.” 
• In July 2020, Dr. Anthony Fauci said national vaccine mandates would be “encroaching upon a person’s freedom to make their own choice of their own health.”

NEW YORKERS ARE ALREADY SEEING THE CONSEQUENCES OF VACCINE MANDATES

• The strict vaccine requirements imposed by Democrat Mayor Bill DeBlasio in New York City have shown this devastating policy in action, furloughing 9,000 city employees in one day.
• This includes more than 2,300 firefighters, forcing 18 firehouses out of service overnight and leading to longer emergency response times.
• Heaps of trash around the city are growing by the day, as 20 percent of sanitation workers were furloughed due to this mandate. 

REPUBLICANS ARE FIGHTING BACK

• With many small businesses and workers lacking the money and legal resources to fight Biden’s unconstitutional mandate, the RNC is suing the Biden administration to stop this mandate and protect Americans’ liberties.
• Ten Republican Attorneys General have already filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration’s “unconstitutional, unlawful, and unwise” mandate. 
•  Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds plans to take “immediate legal action” against the mandate and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis criticized the vaccine mandate as a “executive fiat.”
• More than 40 Senate Republicans have signed on to an effort to force a vote to block Biden’s vaccine mandate.
  • In a letter to Chuck Schumer, Republican Senators also expressed their intent to block funding for this mandate.
