Biden And His Team Have Repeatedly Failed To Counter China’s Abuses At The Expense Of American National Security And Human Rights

BIDEN SITS BY AS CHINA GROWS ITS INFLUENCE

• Today, Biden hosts the leaders of Australia, India, and Japan at the White House in an attempt to show that he is serious about countering China’s global ambitions.
• In reality, Biden has enabled China to grow its influence, threaten American security, undermine the rules-based international order, and carry out human rights atrocities.
• As recently as July, Biden praised Chinese President Xi Jingping, calling him “bright,” while John Kerry, his Climate Czar, called Chinese officials “genuine friends.”
  • At the first high-level meeting between China and the U.S. in March, China mocked America’s “sins” and claimed the superiority of “Chinese-style democracy,” embarrassing the Biden administration on the world stage.
• Biden has a long history of ignoring China’s imminent threat and putting America last: he supported trade policies with China that cost millions of American jobs, and repeatedly bragged about spending more time with President Xi than any other world leader.
  • He also stated: “China is not our enemy,” “a rising China is a positive development” for the U.S, and that they’re “not bad folks.”
• After a series of recent foreign policy failures, Biden’s approval ratings are plummeting; but China has long taken advantage of his incompetence.

BIDEN IS FAILING TO HOLD CHINA ACCOUNTABLE

• From COVID to cybersecurity, Biden has allowed China to strengthen its global position.
• Biden has failed to confront China on the origins of the coronavirus after promising he would “insist” on getting answers.
  • Biden resumed funding for the WHO despite China’s significant influence over the organization.
• Biden did not respond with sanctions or diplomatic expulsions after China carried out a malicious cyberattack on Microsoft.
  • Instead, Biden responded with “public shaming,” making the United States look like it “treats China with kid gloves.”
• Biden approved license applications worth hundreds of millions of dollars for China’s blacklisted Huawei company despite its long history of deception, lying, and close ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
  • In March 2021, the FCC deemed Huawei Technologies Co. a national security threat.
• Biden revoked Trump’s attempted ban on Chinese-owned apps like TikTok and WeChat, despite the Chinese government’s ability to access Americans’ personal information through these apps.
  • Zhang Yiming – creator of TikTok – has previously stated that “technology must be led by the socialist core value system” and “strengthening the work of party (CCP) construction.”

THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION PUTS ITS RADICAL CLIMATE CHANGE AGENDA BEFORE HUMAN RIGHTS

• The Biden administration made its radical climate change agenda “essential” to its foreign policy at the expense of fundamental human rights and dignity.
• In the Xinjiang Province of China, genocide is being carried out by the Chinese government against Uyghurs, including human rights abuses like rape, forced sterilization, and forced labor.
  • Climate Czar John Kerry prioritizes climate change over human rights, saying “life is always full of tough choices in the relationship between nations.”

• Kerry’s family has “at least $1 million” invested in a hedge fund specializing in private partnerships and investments with Chinese government-controlled funds.
  • Biden’s family is not blameless either, with new reporting indicating Hunter Biden touted high-level contacts in the Chinese government while trying to secure a $2 million retainer to unfreeze a Democrat donor’s Libyan assets.

• In June, Biden signed an executive order reversing a Trump-era ban on Sugon, a Chinese supercomputing firm involved in Beijing’s surveillance of Uyghurs.
• Biden’s proposed budget would give $1.2 billion to the Green Climate Fund and reinstate funding for the United Nations (UN) Population Fund, which evidence suggests supports coercive abortion or involuntary sterilization in China.
• At the G-7, when pressed on not being “tough” enough on China for its human rights abuses, Biden said, “we’re in a contest, not with China per se, but with autocrats” and that “I think there’s plenty of action on China.”
  • A Chinese spokesperson rebutted that “the days when global decisions were dictated by a small group of countries are long gone.”

BIDEN DAMAGED ALLIANCES

• Months ago, Biden said “American leadership must meet … the growing ambitions of China … by nations working together and in common.”
• Biden has since cast America’s allies aside – just last month overseeing the “worst foreign policy catastrophe in a generation” during which he alienated America’s allies as Kabul fell.
  • Longstanding allies across Europe, including the U.K. and France, scolded Biden.
• China, which sees control of Taiwan as essential to its “national rejuvenation,” seized on Biden’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal as a sign that the U.S. would not defend Taiwan if attacked.
  • Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen suggested Taiwan could not rely on the U.S. anymore, saying Taiwan’s “only option is to grow stronger and become more united.”
