The Numbers Don’t Lie — Americans Want Free, Fair, And Secure Elections — Reject Democrats’ Federal Power Grab
BY A WIDE MARGIN, THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS SUPPORT COMMONSENSE REFORMS TO SECURE U.S. ELECTIONS
- Democrats are increasingly running the same lie-filled playbook attacking Republican efforts in states across the country to secure our elections.
- Americans see through Democrats’ lies, instead supporting Republicans’ commonsense election integrity initiatives by a wide margin.
- By a 33 point margin, Americans believe that voting in their area is “easy” and want the main objective of any reforms to focus on making sure elections are “fair and free of voter fraud.”
- 68 percent of voters believe that state legislatures should decide the voting rules for their state, not the federal government.
- A Republican National Committee poll found that:
- 80 percent of voters support voter ID.
- 87 percent of voters are against ballot trafficking.
- 78 percent of all voters endorse a voting plan with these five common sense measures: presenting voter ID, signature verification, chain of custody controls, bipartisan observers, and cleaning up voter rolls.
- In Georgia, Democrats lied about SB202 — Georgia’s new election integrity law — leading to boycotts that hurt small businesses:
- 55 percent of voters believe that ballot drop boxes should only be allowed “inside early voting sites.”
- 60 percent of voters also endorse an “earlier deadline to request absentee ballots,” with a cutoff of 11 days instead of four days before election day.
AMERICANS SUPPORT REQUIRING AN ID TO VOTE
- Across the country, Americans overwhelmingly support requiring voters to show identification.
- Support for voter ID has been consistent for years, with a 2018 Pew Research Center survey finding that 76 percent of Americans favor requiring everyone to show a government-issued photo ID in order to vote.
AFTER SEEING THE POLLING ON VOTER ID, DEMOCRATS NOW LIE AND CLAIM THEY NEVER OPPOSED IT
