How Bidenflation Stole Christmas

AMERICANS ARE FACING HIGHER PRICES AROUND THE HOLIDAY SEASON

With Christmas just around the corner, Bidenflation is set to make the holiday season a whole lot more expensive.
November’s consumer price index rose by 6.8 percent compared to last year – the largest annual increase in 39 years.
- Core consumer prices – excluding food and energy – rose by 4.9 percent since last year, the largest increase since June 1991.
- Real wages decreased 2.3 percent, with inflation eating up workers' wage gains.
Producer prices have risen 9.6 percent since last November, the eighth month in a row it increased at the highest pace on record.
- Core producer prices – which takes out food and energy – also increased at a record 7.7 percent.
American workers and families believe inflation will keep making their paychecks worth less and less.
- According to a New York Federal Reserve survey, consumers expect prices to grow twice as fast as their wages this upcoming year.
As the Christmas season approaches and prices continue to soar, 56 percent of Americans are now reporting financial strain due to inflation.

CHRISTMAS COSTS ARE ON THE RISE

Despite Biden and Democrats dismissing rising prices as “high class problems,” a “record” number of Americans won't be buying gifts this Christmas season.
- Middle-class and lower-income Americans are the hardest hit, with two-thirds of those who plan to spend nothing at all this Christmas making under $50,000.
- Nearly half of middle-income families “can’t afford all the gifts they want to give this year,” while experts say Americans should be braced to spend 17 percent more this Christmas.
This year’s Christmas price index – which calculates the price of gifts from the classic “Twelve Days of Christmas” – is up 5.7 percent, the largest increase in almost ten years.
Christmas trees are expected to cost anywhere from 10 to 30 percent more this year, with supply chain woes leading to a shortage of both real and artificial Christmas trees.
- Even Elf on the Shelf isn’t safe from Bidenflation, as rising prices impacted supply of the popular toy.
Christmas travel will “burn an even bigger hole” in Americans’ wallets as airline ticket prices are up 55 percent since last year.
- For Americans who choose to drive, filling up the tank will cost an average dollar per gallon more than last December.
Holiday meals will be costlier, with staples like a Christmas ham (+11.1 percent), pie (+6.5 percent), and milk for Santa (+4.6 percent) all up.
Along with a more expensive holiday, heating costs this winter are also expected to wallop wallets.

BIDEN'S SUPPLY CHAIN CRISIS IS GETTING WORSE

Along with trouble affording presents, empty shelves compound the holiday struggles Americans are facing on Biden’s watch.
- Holiday decorations are in short supply, with shoppers “finding nearly-empty shelves that are typically stuffed with lights, ornaments and wreaths this time of year.”
- Out-of-stock messages are up 258 percent from just two years ago.
Biden has failed to deliver on his promise to provide relief from supply chain bottlenecks at California ports.
- Half a million shipping containers are strandedoff the coast of Southern California, and ports are unable to unload goods fast enough because of staffing scarcity at every level, leading them to operate at only 60 to 70 percent capacity.
- The Port of Los Angeles has seen “few takers” on Biden’s failed implementation of "24/7" operations, and the West Coast remains jam-packed.
- Cargo ships are now simply waiting farther out at sea to get to port.
One toymaker blasted Biden and his handling of the shipping crisis, saying it’s “too little, too late” to save Christmas.

WHILE THEIR POLICIES MADE THINGS WORSE, BIDEN AND DEMOCRATS DOWNPLAYED RISING PRICES

For months, Biden and Democrats laughed at concerns of rising prices, but “uncomfortably high inflation” is no joke to Americans across the country struggling to make ends meet.
- Biden repeatedly said that inflation was only going to be “temporary.”
- Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said “that is hilarious” when asked what the administration’s plan to lower gas prices was.
- White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki sarcastically mocked Biden’s supply chain crisis as a “tragedy.”
With inflation now at a 39-year-high, Fed Chair Jerome Powelland Biden’s Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen have finally conceded inflation will continue and that it is time to “retire” the word “transitory.”
Despite the threat of more inflation, Democrats want to ram through a bloated, nearly two trillion dollar spending bill that includes massive tax cuts for wealthy blue state residents.
- Economists across the aisle have said the bill will worsen inflation.
