INFLATION IS
LOW AFTER RECORD HIGHS UNDER BIDEN
- The Consumer Price Index – which measures inflation –
came in LOWER than
expected at a rate of just 2.4% annually
and increased only 0.2% in January,
down from 0.3% in December.
- Core inflation – which excludes food and energy – came
in at 2.5% which was
the lowest rate since March, 2021.
- Even the mainstream media is touting the great report:

- These low inflation numbers come off the heels of a spectacular jobs report from earlier in the week.
- Americans saw inflation hit a 40-year high under Joe Biden.
PRICES ARE
COMING DOWN
- Today’s CPI report shows that food prices fell 0.5% from
December.
- Egg prices have fallen nearly 50% since
President Trump took office and over $3.50 since reaching their peak in
March, 2025.
- Household staples like spaghetti and macaroni, white bread, ice cream, potatoes, American cheese, bacon, fresh whole chicken, lemons, and tomatoes have all
seen prices decrease since President Trump took office.
- The Breakfast Basics Index — which measures the price of three eggs, a glass of
milk, a bagel, and an avocado — decreased 14% between March and September.
- The Everyday Essentials Index — which measures the price of toothpaste, shampoo,
toilet paper, laundry detergent, pain medicine, and diapers — fell over
the past year.
GAS AND
ENERGY PRICES ARE DOWN FROM BIDEN-ERA RECORD HIGHS
- Biden oversaw the most expensive gas in the
nation’s history when average gas prices reached $4.93 in June of 2022.
- Gas prices have fallen below $3 per gallon across the country.
- Overall, gasoline has fallen 7.5% and fuel
and oil has fallen 4.2% in the past year.
- Used car and truck prices fell 1.8% in January
and are down 2% over the past year.
- Americans are on track to spend the least
amount of their disposable income on gas in the past two decades.
- 2025 gas prices averaged their lowest since 2020.
- Households heated by propane or heating
oil will pay less
to heat their homes this winter than last winter.
HOUSING AND
RENT COSTS ARE COMING DOWN
- National median rent has fallen five months
in a row as rent prices fell 0.8% in December.
- President Trump is making it more affordable for
Americans to buy and rent a home.
- Today’s CPI report shows the shelter cost – which
measures the cost of housing through rent prices – lowered from December and the 3.0% annual rate is the lowest in four
years.
- Under the Biden administration, mortgage rates hit a 22-year high.
- President Trump has brought down the 30-year fixed mortgage rate from over 7% when he took office
to 6.1% today.
- Mortgage affordability is at a four-year high after rates fell in January.
- National median rent fell in
January, marking the sixth consecutive month that rents have declined.
- President Trump has vowed to lower mortgages with $200 billion bond purchases.
TRUMPRX IS
LOWERING DRUG PRICES
- Last week, President Trump launched TrumpRX which will
lower costs of many popular medications thanks to the most-favored-nation price.
- The monthly prices of Ozempic and injectable Wegovy
will fall from $1,028 and $1,349, respectively, to an average price of
$350 and as low as $199, depending on dosage strength.
- The monthly price of Zepbound and will fall from
$1,088 to an average price of $346 and as low as $299, depending on
dosage strength.
- Gonal-F, one of the most commonly used fertility
drugs, will see its price reduced to as low as $168 per pen, depending on
dosage strength.
- The price of Cetrotide, another commonly used
fertility medicine, will drop from $316 to $22.50.
- The price of Ovidrel will fall from $251 to $84.
- Bevespi Aerosphere, an inhaler used to treat chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), will be discounted from $458 to
$51.
- Airsupra, an inhaler used to treat asthma symptoms
and attacks, will see a price drop from $504 to $201.
- Eucrisa, a topical ointment for atopic dermatitis,
will be discounted from $792 to $158.
- Insulin Lispro will be available for as low as $25
per month.
- Duavee, a medication used to treat hot flashes and
osteoporosis, will see its price cut from $202 to $30.
