As Food Prices Soar Under Biden, Families Are Going Hungry And Food Banks Are Struggling To Keep Up

AMERICANS ARE STRUGGLING TO FEED THEIR FAMILIES UNDER BIDEN

GROCERY BILLS ARE SKYROCKETING BECAUSE OF BIDENFLATION

  • Bidenflation is causing grocery bills to skyrocket, forcing many Americans to either resort to store brands, cut back on essentials, or do without certain types of food altogether.
  • Since Biden took office, food prices have risen dramatically due to inflation which in turn is costing American families nearly an extra $100 last month alone according to Congress’s Joint Economic Committee.
    • Jamaica Bonvillian, a single mom from Louisiana, on going to the grocery store: “I just get to the point where I break down and I’m like, ‘OK, how do I [afford groceries]?’”
    • Nikki Jones of Monrovia, Maryland: “I definitely don’t want to be spending $1,600 a month on groceries.”
    • Megan Naquin, a mother of six who now spends more on food than her mortgage: “Stuff hasn’t just gone up a little bit, it’s gone up tremendously.”
  • Because of these rising prices, 39 percent of Americans have cut back on food or groceries in the last six months, forcing many to turn to food banks to feed their families.

BIDENFLATION BRINGS LONG LINES AND WAIT TIMES OUTSIDE FOOD BANKS

  • As families scramble to afford essentials, food banks are struggling to meet the increase in demand for food, causing some pantries to face shortages.
  • With prices up, food banks across the country are reporting an additional 13 million Americans seeking assistance compared to before the pandemic.
    • In Chicago, food banks have reported an 18 percent increase in demand for services compared to last year.
    • Vince Hall, Chief Government Relations Officer for Feeding America: “Most of America's food banks are seeing the lines grow with each passing week."
    • Emily Weikert Bryant, Executive Director of Feeding Indiana’s Hungry: “We’ve seen a decrease in food available while we’ve seen the need continue to stay at pandemic levels.”

BIDEN’S RISING FOOD PRICES HURT STUDENTS AND THE ELDERLY

  • As food prices continue to climb, young students and the elderly are paying the price for Biden’s failures.
  • Thanks to Bidenflation, schools across the country are having to “raise their prices” or offer “limited menus,” with some schools reducing food portions and cutting back on fresh foods.
  • Bidenflation is also driving up food insecurity among older Americans, especially retirees.
    • Nearly half of older Americans are unable to afford their “essential expenses” including food.
    • 37 percent of Americans age 50-80 say rising food prices have impacted them a lot, including 46 percent of older Americans making less than $30,000 a year.
    • Susan Pynchon of Colville, Washington: “Groceries are going up a heck of a lot faster than [my cost-of-living adjustment].”

BIDEN AND DEMOCRATS CREATED THE INFLATION DRIVING UP FOOD PRICES

  • As crippling food prices eat away at family budgets, Biden and Democrats’ radical policies have only made matters worse.
  • Studies from the Tax Foundation, Penn Wharton, Moody’s, and the Congressional Budget Office all found that the Democrats’ “Inflation Reduction Act” will either make inflation worse or do essentially nothing to reduce it.
  • report from the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco found that Biden and Democrats’ $1.9 trillion “stimulus” fueled inflation.
  • Even liberal economists have agreed that Biden’s massive spending spree added to inflation:
