Today, Biden visits Albuquerque, New Mexico in a desperate attempt to rally support for Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham who is facing a fierce challenge from Republican Mark Ronchetti.
- Biden is underwater in New Mexico, with just 43 percent of New Mexicans approving of the job he is doing.
This trip comes a week after Kamala Harris’ trip to the Land Of Enchantment failed to address the issues facing New Mexico families like higher prices, Biden’s border crisis, and surging crime.
- Even though Biden’s trip will take him within 230 miles of the southern border and he could easily stop by after traveling thousands of miles across the country, he won’t.
New Mexico families are being crushed by the highest regional inflation rate in the country thanks to Biden’s inflation-fueling $1.9 trillion “stimulus” that every single New Mexico Democrat voted for.
- Yet Biden and New Mexico Democrats doubled down, passing their Bidenflation Scam that raises taxes on New Mexicans and will worsen inflation.
Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Ronchetti offers an alternative and is making headway with New Mexico voters, especially Hispanic voters, because they know he will bring back safer streets, stronger schools, and a thriving economy.

BIDEN AND LUJAN GRISHAM HAVE CRUSHED NEW MEXICAN FAMILIES WITH HIGHER PRICES

New Mexico families are struggling to afford the inflation that Biden and Lujan Grisham caused, with the economy the top issue for New Mexico voters by more than 20 points.
New Mexicans are facing the highest regional inflation rate in the country, with the average family in the state now paying 16 percent more because of inflation.
- Bidenflation is costing the average New Mexico family an extra $751 per month according to Congress’ Joint Economic Committee.
- Even if prices stopped rising today, Bidenflation would cost the average New Mexico family more than $9,000 over the next year.
New Mexico gas prices now sit at $3.55 per gallon, more than $1.25 higher than when Biden took office.
Lujan Grisham’s policies have devastated New Mexico’s economy.
Due to Lujan Grisham’s failed leadership, New Mexico has the sixth highest unemployment rate in the country and ranks 30^th in jobs recovered from the pandemic.

BIDEN AND LUJAN GRISHAM’S OPEN BORDERS PUT NEW MEXICANS AT RISK

Thanks to open border policies championed by Biden and Democrats, New Mexicans are facing a drug crisis across their state.
More than 4.7 million illegal immigrants have crossed the southern border since Biden took office.
- This includes the nearly 3.8 million illegal immigrants that Customs and Border Protection has apprehended and the over 900,000 gotaways that have escaped past Border Patrol into the U.S.
In 2019, Lujan Grisham pulled the National Guard away from her state’s border, which has made their 180-mile stretch of the border more vulnerable to illegal immigration.
Because of Biden and Lujan Grisham’s open border policies, drugs are flooding into the U.S., causing a crisis in New Mexico.
- 1,826 pounds of deadly fentanyl and 10,612 pounds of methamphetamine were seized at the southern border in September alone, with much more likely getting through.
One DEA official warned that fentanyl is the “number one threat” to New Mexicans.
- The fentanyl crisis has gotten so dire that last year even a 12-year-old boy died of a fentanyl overdose in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
- A recent drug bust in Albuquerque seized more than one million fentanyl pills as part of possibly the FBI’s largest New Mexico fentanyl bust in agency history.
Human smugglers in southern New Mexico left at least three men to die in the desert earlier this year amid a year of record illegal migrant deaths at the border.

DEMOCRATS’ SOFT-ON-CRIME AGENDA HAS MADE NEW MEXICO FAMILIES LESS SAFE

In addition to the border crisis, Lujan Grisham has overseen a surge in crime.
New Mexico is ranked number one in the nation for kidnappings, it has the second-highest rate of violent crime of any state, and Albuquerque is number three for auto thefts.
Lujan Grisham’s administration has released over 700 criminals early, with some of these criminals going on to reoffend.
Democrat policies in New Mexico have made it harder to be a cop by taking away qualified immunity last year.
- The Albuquerque Police Department is facing a major staff and recruitment shortage.
The New Mexico Fraternal Order of Police and the Albuquerque Police Officers Association endorsed Mark Ronchetti for governor because he stands with law enforcement.

LUJAN GRISHAM HAS FAILED NEW MEXICO VOTERS, BUT RONCHETTI WILL FIGHT FOR THEM

From surging crime and an out-of-control fentanyl crisis to abysmal school test scores thanks to some of the strictest pandemic restrictions in the nation, New Mexico is suffering under Lujan Grisham.
Under Lujan Grisham, New Mexico students and schools are struggling.
- New Mexico’s education system is ranked dead last for K-12 performance despite being ranked 28^th for overall education spending.
- The latest New Mexico Public Education Department student assessments revealed that 75 percent of students are not proficient in mathematics and 66 percent are not proficient in reading.
Mark Ronchetti plans to put parents and students first by launching school-based summer academies to catch kids up from COVID losses and improve parents’ ability to send their child to a school that best fits their needs.
While Lujan Grisham fails to focus on reviving the economy and rebuilding businesses, Ronchetti plans to increase economic development incentives for businesses that commit to relocating and expanding in New Mexico.
- The U.S. as a whole has more small businesses now than at the start of the pandemic, but under Lujan Grisham, New Mexico has 26 percent fewer small businesses today, the second worst performance of any state in the country.
Lujan Grisham paid $150,000 to settle a sexual harassment claim from a former staffer who accused her of grabbing his crotch.
