New Data Confirms Republican Leadership Is Producing More Jobs And Lower Unemployment
REPUBLICAN-LED STATES ARE BRINGING BACK JOBS FASTER
- Newly released data from the Labor Department confirms that Republican governors and legislatures are leading the way in getting Americans back to work.
- More jobs are being recovered and unemployment is lower in red states.
- Through January, 15 of the top 20 states for jobs recovered since the coronavirus pandemic began are led by Republican governors, and 17 of the top 20 states have Republican-controlled legislatures.
- The top six states for jobs recovered are all led by Republicans.
- Nine Republican-led states – Utah, Idaho, Montana, Arkansas, Texas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee – have more jobs than when the pandemic hit.
- All Republican-led states have recovered at least two-thirds of their lost jobs.
- Republican-led states on average have recovered 93 percent of their lost jobs compared to just 80 percent for Democrat-run states.

RED STATES HAVE LOWER UNEMPLOYMENT RATES
- Out of the top 20 states with the lowest unemployment rates, 17 are led by Republican governors and 17 have Republican-controlled legislatures.
- Eight of the 10 states with the lowest unemployment rates are led by Republicans, and eight of the 10 states with the highest unemployment rates are led by Democrats.
- The average unemployment rate for the nation’s 28 states with Republican governors is just 3.5 percent.
- Democrat-led states have an average unemployment rate one percentage points higher – 4.5 percent.
- 79 percent of the states with unemployment rates equal or lower than when the pandemic began are led by Republican governors, and 95 percent have Republican-controlled legislatures.

BIDENFLATION IS HURTING FAMILIES, CONSUMERS, AND SMALL BUSINESSES ACROSS AMERICA
- Under Biden, 33 states have hit new record high gas prices, and in 38 states, Americans are paying average prices above $4 per gallon.
- Americans are hurting from Biden’s failed policies and know that he is to blame.
- A frustrated Michigan resident said, “I’m just totally disgusted with what’s going on with the whole leadership of our country,” saying that the Biden administration is “to blame” for record high gas prices.
- Jimmie Lewis, a Mississippi driver, said that gas prices under Biden are “ridiculous.”
- An upset Florida resident blamed Biden for shutting down the Keystone XL pipeline, adding that “now we depend on everyone else and their countries to supply our gas” which “seems a little bit ridiculous.”
- Texan James Brown said that record high gas prices under Biden has “taken a toll on just about everybody.”
- A Massachusetts resident said that he is “sick to [his] stomach” and that “you think back two to three years ago, we were self-efficient. We didn’t have to buy oil or gas, now things have gone just in the opposite energy direction … They’re killing the working man.”
- Mohammed, a Pennsylvania resident said, “life is more difficult right now” due to record gas prices.
- Along with higher gas prices, Americans are paying more for just about everything under Biden – with inflation at its highest in 40 years.
- 70 percent of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of gas prices and his handling of inflation.
- According to the NFIB Small Business Optimism Index, 26 percent of small businesses say inflation is the number one problem they face – the highest level since 1981.
