Biden And Tim Ryan Have Burdened The Buckeye State With Higher Prices, Lower Wages, And Rising Crime

DEMOCRATS ARE FAILING OHIO

Today, Biden visits the Buckeye State as Ohio families face skyrocketing prices on everything from food and energy to transportation and housing.
Biden’s radical tax-and-spend agenda is responsible for rising prices, with even liberal economists saying Biden’s spending fueled inflation.
- Now, Biden and Democrats want to spend even more despite historically high prices and a self-inflicted recession.
Ohioans know Biden is to blame with only 34 percent of Ohioans approving of the job he is doing.
It’s no wonder why Ohio Democrat Senate candidate Tim Ryan has made it an effort to distance himself from Biden’s failures despite voting with Biden 100 percent of the time.
- In July, Ryan was absent when Biden visited Cleveland, Ohio to tout his failed economic agenda, and in May, as Biden traveled to Ohio three days after the primary, Ryan was again notably absent.
- While Ryan insisted Biden wouldn’t “play a huge role” in his campaign for the Senate, Ryan has fully embraced Biden’s failed economic agenda, calling it the “economy of the future.”

OHIO FAMILIES ARE FEELING THE PAIN OF DEMOCRATS’ INFLATIONARY SPENDING

Nationally, July’s Consumer Price Index rose by 8.5 percent compared to last year, with inflation remaining at the highest levels in 40 years.
- In Ohio, inflation has hit working-class families especially hard, with household costs rising 14 percent since January 2021 according to Congress’ Joint Economic Committee.
- Even if inflation stopped rising today, Biden’s price hike would cost the average family in Ohio an extra $8,100 over the next year.
Real average hourly earnings fell 3.0 percent over the last year, marking the 16th month in a row under Biden in which inflation has outpaced wages.
Because of these rising prices, more Ohioans are turning to food banks to feed their families.
- Jess Morgan, Chief Programs Officer at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank: “We’re serving more people right now… and a lot of that has to do with the fact that gas is more expensive, food is more expensive, utilities are more expensive.”
- Matt Habash, Head of the Mid-Ohio Food Collective: “We've seen a 60% increase in demand for food across our network since the start of the year. And just a simultaneous drop in food supplies available.”
As Ohioans struggle to afford gas, groceries, and housing, Biden and Democrats including Tim Ryan continue to fuel inflation.
- Ryan voted for Biden’s Bidenflation Scam bill which will shrink the economy, kill thousands of jobs, raise taxes on families and businesses during a recession, and worsen – not reduce– inflation.
- Ryan voted for “at least $6.74 trillion in higher taxes” including Biden’s inflation fueling $1.9 trillion stimulus which he claims to be proud
On top of inflation, Ohio businesses are suffering from staffing shortages, with 87 percent of restaurants in the state understaffed according to the Ohio Restaurant Association.

BIDEN’S WAR ON AMERICAN ENERGY HITS OHIOANS

On top of rising prices, Biden has waged a war on American energy which has hit Ohioans especially hard.
- Ohio is “sixth in the country for natural gas production and 13^th for oil production” and nearly two-thirds of Ohio households rely on natural gas for home heating.
Ohio’s oil and gas industry supports 375,000 jobs and contributes $58.7 billion to the state’s economy, yet the Biden administration has leased less acres for oil-and-gas drilling than any other administration in modern history.
The Biden administration has considered shutting down Enbridge’s Line 5 pipeline which would kill more than 20,000 Ohio jobs and cost the state’s economy $13.7 billion.
Ohio gas prices now sit at nearly $3.60 per gallon, more than $1.25 higher than when Biden took office.
The Biden administration’s solution to high gas prices is to tell Ohio families to buy an expensive electric vehicle (EV) which many can’t afford.
- The average cost of a new electric vehicle is nearly $67,000 according to Kelly Blue Book.
It’s not just Biden who has advocated for radical environmental policies:
- In 2020, Ryan promoted population control as a solution to global warming.
- In 2019, Ryan called for a ban of “gas vehicles” and said it’s not happening soon enough.

DEMOCRATS’ SOFT-ON-CRIME AGENDA PUTS OHIOANS AT RISK

Biden and Democrat’s soft-on-crime policies have left Ohioans struggling with rising crime rates.
Democrat-run Cleveland has seen four times the national average of robberies, murders, and assaults, and Democrat-run Columbus’ homicide rate increased 63 percent in 2021.
Despite claiming to be “completely against” defunding the police, Ryan voted against condemning calls to “defund,” “disband,” “dismantle,” or “abolish” the police.
- Ryan is gaslighting Ohioans into believing he supports the police, after he spent years calling the criminal justice system “racist” and the “new Jim Crow.”
Life-long Democrat Erica Ingram, whose son was murdered in 2019, is leaving soft-on-crime Democrats like Tim Ryan because, “They’re, like, weak. They don’t fight hard enough as to where the Republicans get up there and they pull out all stops.”
