Virginia May Be For Lovers, But They Aren’t Loving Biden

VIRGINIANS ARE HURTING UNDER BIDEN

Today, Joe Biden is in Culpeper County, Virginia to tout his radical “Build Back Broke” agenda.
- Virginians reject Biden and his radical agenda demonstrated by his low approval rating across the commonwealth.
- Biden’s approval rating is 22 points underwater among Virginia voters, with 56 percent disapproving of the job he is doing.
It’s no wonder Biden is desperately trying to build support for his failed policies in Virginia after a red wave swept across the commonwealth in last November’s election.
- Biden will be visiting Virginia’s 7^th Congressional District, where Glenn Youngkin won by 11 points in November.
- The red wave which swept across Virginia is just a preview of the 2022 midterms to come because as even Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) acknowledges: "so goes Virginia, so goes the nation."
Virginians are paying the cost for Biden and Democrats’ extreme policies which have led to higher prices and short supply while stripping Virginians of their freedoms.

BIDENFLATION AND SUPPLY CHAIN SHORTAGES HIT VIRGINIA

Consumer prices increased by 7.5 percent in January compared to last year, putting a dent in the pocketbooks of Virginians and Americans across the country.
- In the South, including in Virginia, consumer prices are up 7.8 percent over that span.
Virginians are paying higher prices at the pump as gas prices nationally are at their highest “in more than 7 years.”
- In Virginia, gas now costs over $3.30 a gallon – up 41 percent from a year ago.
Housing is less affordable in Virginia, with Virginia Realtors reporting home prices spiked 9.4 percent in 2021.
On top of skyrocketing prices, Biden has failed to deliver on his promise to provide relief from supply chain bottlenecks – rather than solve the problem, an increasing number of cargo ships are now simply waiting farther out at sea.
The supply chain crisis fueled by Biden’s inaction is affecting Virginians in every corner of the commonwealth.
- Family Pizzeria in Northern Virginia was forced to close its doors after nearly 40 years due to Biden’s supply chain crisis.
- Schools across Virginia are scrambling to feed kids as Biden’s supply chain crisis has led to shortages of chicken patties, frozen pizza, bread, and other lunchroom staples.

VIRGINIA DEMOCRATS WANT TO PUT PARENTS AND STUDENTS LAST

This past fall, Virginia’s Loudoun County schools spent $314,000 on critical race theory (CRT) coaching for its teachers and for a presentation on “Introduction to Critical Race Theory.”
On day one of his term, Governor Glenn Youngkin issued executive orders to “restore excellence in education by ending the use of divisive concepts” and “to empower Virginia parents in their children’s education.”
Instead of standing with parents and children, Virginia Democrats are putting the interests of far-left activists and teachers unions first.
- Democrats in the General Assembly refused to stand when Governor Youngkin said parents “have a fundamental right, enshrined in law by this General Assembly, to make decisions with regard to your child’s upbringing, education, and care.”
- Democrats in a Virginia Senate committee killed two pieces of Youngkin’s education legislation which would have banned “divisive concepts” from being taught in K-12 schools across the commonwealth.
In his first week in office, Governor Glenn Youngkin also ended forced masking of children by removing the mask mandate for the commonwealth’s public school system.
- Students in Democrat-run localities in Virginia have faced horrific treatment for choosing not to wear masks by being separated from their peers and being forced into plexiglass boxes in classrooms.

GOVERNOR YOUNGKIN IS STANDING UP FOR VIRGINIANS

Governor Youngkin has taken action to help Virginians while fighting Biden and Virginia Democrats’ radical policies.
- On day one, Youngkin implemented executive orders declaring Virginia “open for business,” establishing a commission to combat anti-Semitism, and striving to prevent human trafficking.
- In celebration of Black History Month, Youngkin issued a statement honoring the accomplishments of Black Americans across the commonwealth including Republican Winsome Sears who is currently the first Black female to serve as Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor.
As part of his economic plan, Youngkin will:
- Suspend the state’s gas tax hike for a year as national gas prices reach its “highest level in more than seven years.”
- Eliminate Virginia’s grocery tax.
- Cut taxes on veterans’ retirement income.
Youngkin’s economic plan will save Virginians thousands and lower taxes across the commonwealth, saving a typical Virginia family of four almost $1,500 in the next year alone.
