Worst June At The Border In DHS History

In June, more than 207,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border, making this the highest number of June apprehensions in DHS history.
- That is a 9 percent increase over last June, and a 310 percent increase from the average number of June apprehensions during the Trump administration.
- 15,271 unaccompanied children were apprehended.
- 83,176 illegal immigrants were apprehended from countries outside the Northern Triangle and Mexico, showing that Biden’s crisis is global.
- 56 people on the terror watchlist have been apprehended trying to enter the U.S. between ports of entry since the fiscal year began in October.
Roughly four million illegal immigrants have crossed the border since Biden took office.
- This includes the nearly 3.2 million illegal immigrants that Customs and Border Protection has apprehended and the nearly 800,000 gotaways that have escaped into the U.S. undetected.
Biden has doubled down on his plan to end Title 42, the successful Trump-era removal policy that helped secure the border.
- The Biden administration is actively fighting in court to end Title 42, appealing a decision by a federal judge who blocked the move.

DRUGS STREAM OVER THE BORDER AS CRIME IS SURGING

Illicit drugs are flowing into the country at an alarming rate, with only a fraction being intercepted as border officials struggle to contain the smuggling.
621 pounds of deadly fentanyl and 11,210 pounds of methamphetamine were seized at the southern border in June alone, with much more likely getting through.
- Joshua Sharfstein of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health: “If they’re seizing a lot, it’s because a lot is coming in.”
- The amount of fentanyl seized in June is the equivalent of more than 140 million lethal doses.
Drug traffickers were arrested transporting more than 150,000 fentanyl pills in California, enough fentanyl to kill millions of Americans.
- These drug traffickers were then shockingly released back into the community thanks to California’s liberal bail laws.
In Los Angeles, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) recently seized more than one million fake pills containing fentanyl that were smuggled over the border by the Sinaloa cartel.
The effects of this increase in drug trafficking touch the entire country – Portland, Maine has already seen more drug overdose deaths in 2022 than in all of 2021.
In 2021, drug overdose deaths in the U.S. reached an all-time high, up 17 percent from the year prior.

BIDEN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR A HUMANITARIAN CRISIS AT THE BORDER

Despite Biden’s promise of a “fair and humane immigration system,” his open border policies aren’t compassionate; they are deadly.
At least 523 illegal migrants have died this fiscal year attempting to cross the border, meaning Biden’s border crisis is on pace to soon become the deadliest year at the southwest border on record.
- In Brooks County, Texas, an illegal immigrant was struck and killed by oncoming traffic as he fled a vehicle while police arrested the human smuggler behind the wheel.
- In Laredo, Texas, four illegal immigrants and a human smuggler were killed after their car crashed into a semi-truck while evading law enforcement.
- In Eagle Pass, Texas, another illegal migrant died due to heat stroke.
The humanitarian crisis has gotten so dire the Biden administration is now considering a plan to use taxpayer dollars to transport illegal immigrants to Los Angles, Houston, and Dallas.
- This comes as the Biden administration has flown hundreds of unaccompanied children from the border to airports across the U.S. for more than a year.

BIDEN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEADLIST HUMAN SMUGGLING EVENT IN MODERN U.S. HISTORY

Recently in San Antonio, Texas, 53 illegal immigrants were found dead after being trapped in a tractor trailer that human smugglers abandoned on a dirt road.
- With even more migrants hospitalized, this has been labeled the deadliest human smuggling incident in modern U.S. history.
The smuggled migrants were able to pass through a Border Patrol checkpoint in the Laredo sector without being discovered likely due to staffing shortages.
Homeland Security and law enforcement officials have been warning about the potential for an event like this occurring for months.
- San Antonio Police Chief William McManus: “We’ve seen it a number of times. It is inherently dangerous because once you’re locked in there… it’s nothing but a death trap.”
- Former ICE acting director Tom Homan: “I have been warning for a year that a tragedy was going to occur because of the increase in truck smuggling. They can pick up eight in a van, 12 in a pickup truck or get at least 80 in a tractor-trailer.”
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said this tragedy “happens because there is trafficking of people and a lack of control, in this case at the Mexican-U.S. border, but also in the U.S. interior.”

BIDEN HAS ABANDONED BORDER PATROL AGENTS

The Biden administration has abandoned Border Patrol, with agents left feeling “demonize[d].”
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas even admitted: “our Border Patrol agents, their morale is down and I understand why.”
The Biden administration is punishing Border Patrol agents who were falsely accused of “whipping” migrants last year, despite an investigation finding no criminal conduct occurred.
- Top Border Patrol officials from the Bush, Obama, and Trump administrations sent a letter to Mayorkas condemning Biden and Harris’ statements that occurred before the investigation was complete.
- CBP Commissioner Chris Magnus even said: “it was inevitable” and “not at all surprising” that Biden and Harris would smear Border Patrol agents.
- More than a week after border agents were cleared of all wrongdoing Biden still has failed to apologize to the border agents he falsely smeared.
Biden is neglecting the men and women who risk their lives every day, as was shown tragically in April when Texas National Guard member Bishop Evans died attempting to rescue illegal migrants crossing the Rio Grande.

BIDEN’S OPEN BORDER POLICIES CREATED THIS CRISIS

Biden’s failed policies created the crisis at the southern border.
- In Biden’s first 100 days he took more than 94 executive actions on immigration, including halting construction of the border wall and ending the Trump administration’s successful “Remain in Mexico” policy.
- Illegal immigrants are thanking Biden for his weak immigration policies, saying they “didn’t even want to try” crossing the border when Trump was president.
Now, the Biden administration is offering “de facto amnesty” to effectively pardon one million illegal immigrants by 2024 by dismissing thousands of immigration court cases.
Cartels openly brag on social media of making millions of dollars by smuggling illegal immigrants.
- Even workers at Mexican humanitarian organizations say “It would be hard to devise a system that benefits these cartels more than the current one does.”
In recent weeks border agents in the Rio Grande sector have arrested 14 gang members and three sex offenders, with many more likely entering undetected.
A recent Ipsos poll shows Biden only has a 35 percent approval rating on his handling of immigration.
- This comes as a Politico/Morning Consult poll found registered voters trust Republicans in Congress to solve the immigration crisis by 9 points over Democrats.
