New Data Shows Biden’s Border Crisis Is Getting Worse

BIDEN CAUSED THE WORST MARCH AT THE BORDER IN DHS HISTORY

In March, 221,303 illegal immigrants were apprehended attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border, a new high for Biden and the worst month in DHS history.
- It’s a 27 percent increase over last March, and a 331 percent increase from the average number of March apprehensions during the Trump administration.
- 14,167 unaccompanied children were apprehended.
- 88,110 illegal immigrants were apprehended from countries outside the Northern Triangle, showing that Biden’s crisis is global.
In just the last six months, the U.S. has seen more illegal immigrant encounters at the border than most full fiscal years Border Patrol has data for.
- There have already been more encounters at the southwest border in 14 months under Biden than in four years under President Trump.
Nearly 2.5 million illegal immigrants have been caught attempting to cross the border since Biden took office.
- Additionally, more than 300,000 illegal immigrants have reportedly disappeared into the U.S. in just the last six months.
- At least 600,000 “gotaways” have crossed the border and escaped into the country under Biden.
Border officials are bracing for as many as 18,000 illegal immigrants per day at the border this spring which would be unprecedented.
- According to Obama’s former DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson, just 1,000 apprehensions per day “overwhelms the system.”
A new DHS report shows that Biden has already released more than 1.5 million illegal immigrants into the U.S., which is more people than the entire population of Dallas.
Biden plans to eliminate Title 42, which will only add fuel to the fire and cause a “mass migration event.”

CRIME AND DRUG SMUGGLING ARE ON THE RISE

Illicit drugs are flowing into the country at an alarming rate, with 1,024 pounds of deadly fentanyl and 9,583 pounds of methamphetamine seized at the southern border in March alone.
- Joshua Sharfstein of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health: “If they're seizing a lot, it's because a lot is coming in.”
Annual drug overdose deaths recently reached yet another record high, with two-thirds of these deaths linked to fentanyl and other synthetic opioids.
The fentanyl crisis from cartels is getting so bad the DEA issued an unprecedented warning to law enforcement around the country to prepare for a spike in “fentanyl related mass overdose” deaths.
- A mass overdose event is where at least 3 individuals overdose at the same place at the same time – this has already occurred in Texas, Nebraska, and Washington, DC this year alone.
Despite drugs pouring over the border, House Democrats recently blocked yet another effort by Republicans to crack down on fentanyl trafficking.
As the number of illegal immigrants apprehended continues to reach new historic levels, crime is surging thanks to Biden’s open border policies.
- In just one week, several illegal immigrants with alarming criminal histories were arrested in Texas attempting to sneak into the U.S., including murderers, an MS-13 gang member, and a child rapist.
- Last year, Border Patrol apprehended at least 23 people on the U.S. terror watchlist.

BIDEN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR A HUMANITARIAN CRISIS AT THE BORDER

Despite Biden’s promise of a “fair and humane immigration system,” his open border policies aren’t compassionate; they are deadly.
Recently, a four-year-old girl abandoned by smugglers was found sitting alone on the banks of the Rio Grande.
Border Patrol rescued a female illegal immigrant trapped in duffel bag from a burning car after the driver crashed attempting to evade arrest.
Another human smuggler was busted at the border with 76 illegal immigrants “packed hip to hip” crammed inside a truck.
Border Patrol agents in Texas found 22 illegal immigrants locked inside a train car with no means of escape.
Cartels are now recruiting teenagers in U.S. border towns to drive illegal immigrants to cities across the country, telling the teens they are “unlikely to face legal consequences” due to their age.

BIDEN HAS ABANDONED BORDER PATROL AGENTS

The Biden administration has abandoned Border Patrol, with agents left feeling “demonize[d].”
Six months after Biden threatened Border Patrol agents for allegedly “using whips” on illegal immigrants, the border agents accused and smeared by the Biden administration were cleared of wrongdoing.
- The Biden administration had refused to release the results of the investigation because one border official claimed the report will make “the administration look terrible.”
Border Patrol is so overwhelmed they are forced to release large amounts of single adult illegal immigrants into Texas communities and allow them to travel anywhere in the U.S.
Democrats are now proposing to hire social workers to apprehend and deal with illegal immigrants at the border, instead of the CBP agents they have abandoned.

ENDING TITLE 42 WILL ONLY ADD FUEL TO BIDEN’S FIRE

Biden has caved to far-left demands and is removing the crucial Trump policy of Title 42 that helped to limit illegal migration and control the asylum process.
While the Biden administration has already overseen historic numbers of illegal border crossings each month, that will be nothing compared to the more than 170,000 migrants expected to flood the border when Title 42 ends.
Border Patrol is expecting so many crossings after lifting Title 42 they are considering deploying a “pre-screening” app as “an easy way for folks to get in.”
- This would allow illegal immigrants to enter the U.S. with “minimal biometric data and vetting.”
Biden’s own Department of Homeland Security estimates up to 25,000 illegal immigrants are already waiting in Mexico for Title 42 to end.
National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd: Once Title 42 ends, “We are ultimately going to wave the white flag of surrender — the cartels are going to control our borders.”

BIDEN’S OPEN BORDERS POLICIES HAVE MADE THIS CRISIS WORSE

Biden’s failed policies created the crisis at the southern border.
- In Biden’s first 100 days in office he took more than 94 executive actions on immigration, including halting construction of the border wall and ending the Trump administration’s successful “Remain in Mexico” policy.
- Illegal immigrants are thanking Biden for his weak immigration policies, saying that they “didn’t even want to try” crossing the border when Trump was president.
11.4 million illegal immigrants are estimated to now reside in the U.S., a population that has significantly grown thanks to Biden’s failure to enforce the law.
As the crisis continues to rage, the Biden administration has taken even more actions in just the past few months to further open America’s southern border.
- ICE lawyers have been directed to clear hundreds of thousands of immigration cases from the court backlog.
- Biden’s recently released FY 2023 budget would cut ICE detention space for illegal immigrants by more than a quarter.
- Illegal immigrants are being given cell phones by the Biden administration just to throw them away.
Just 33 percent of Americans approve of Biden’s handling of immigration.
