Biden’ Border Crisis Continues To Set Records, As Numbers Show The Highest Number Of November Apprehensions In DHS History

THE WORST NOVEMBER AT THE BORDER ON RECORD 

• Trying to hide just how bad the crisis at the border has become, late Friday night the Biden administration released November border numbers in a news dump before the Christmas weekend.
• Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data shows 233,740 illegal immigrants were apprehended attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border in November, making this the highest total for November in DHS history.
  • That is a 332 percent increase from the average number of November apprehensions during the Trump administration.
  • 13,150 unaccompanied children were apprehended.
  • At least 9 people on the terror watchlist have been apprehended trying to enter the U.S. between ports of entry so far this fiscal year.
  • 142,038 illegal immigrants were apprehended from countries outside the Northern Triangle and Mexico, showing that Biden’s crisis is global.
• 5.3 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border since Biden took office.
  • This includes the nearly 4.3 million illegal immigrants that Customs and Border Protection has apprehended and the more than 1 million gotaways that have escaped past Border Patrol into the U.S.
  • Border officials say that the official number of gotaways vastly undercounts the illegal immigrants who make it into the U.S.
  • Despite this ongoing crisis, Kamala Harris still claims “we have a secure border.”
• Biden has installed a de facto amnesty program in which nearly 50,000 illegal immigrants have had their cases dismissed in court due to his administration’s failure to file the proper paperwork.
• Homeland Security Investigations estimates that Mexican cartels are now making $13 billion a year smuggling illegal immigrants into the U.S, 26 times what they made in 2018.

DRUGS ARE POURING OVER THE BORDER INTO OUR COMMUNITIES

• Illicit drugs are flowing into the country at an alarming rate, with only a fraction being intercepted as border officials struggle to contain the smuggling.
• Nearly 2,900 pounds of deadly fentanyl and 10,722 pounds of methamphetamine were seized at the southern border in November alone, with much more likely getting through.
  • Joshua Sharfstein of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health: “If they’re seizing a lot, it’s because a lot is coming in.”
  • The amount of fentanyl seized in November is the equivalent of more than 650 million lethal doses.  
• Deadly rainbow fentanyl, which is designed by cartels to target children and teens, has been increasingly caught crossing the border and is now in at least 26 states.
  • Fentanyl overdoses are now the leading cause of death for Americans age 18 to 45, and synthetic opioid deaths have skyrocketed 80 percent in two years.
• More than 11 million fentanyl pills have been seized, including deadly rainbow fentanyl, at the Nogales, Arizona port of entry alone since October 1.
• In Austin, Texas, law enforcement made the largest liquid fentanyl bust on record, seizing 25 pounds – the equivalent of 5.7 million lethal doses.
• In Falfurrias, Texas, Border Patrol agents seized more than 3,000 pounds of liquid methamphetamine, one of the largest amounts of liquid methamphetamine in Border Patrol history.

BIDEN IGNORES THE SOUTHERN BORDER AS HIS HUMANITARIAN CATASTROPHE WORSENS

• According to Biden, there are “more important things” than seeing his humanitarian crisis at the southern border.
• Biden traveled to Arizona in December but did not include a visit to the southern border.
  • Border Patrol agents were not surprised by Biden’s decision to ignore the crisis, saying “what is happening at the border is exactly what he wants.”
• DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was confronted by Border Patrol agents on a recent trip to El Paso, Texas, with one agent claiming Mayorkas “had the nerve to respond that he never said the border was secure.”
  • Mayorkas and the Biden administration have repeatedly claimed the border is “secure.”
• Despite Biden’s promise of a “fair and humane immigration system,” his open border policies aren’t compassionate; they are deadly.
  • In December, a Border Patrol agent was killed in the line of duty during a high-speed chase with illegal immigrants in Mission, Texas.
  • In El Paso, Texas, a 12-year-old girl was hit by a truck and killed while attempting to cross the highway that runs along the Rio Grande with a group of other illegal migrants.
  • In El Paso, Texas, illegal immigrants are being forced to wait outside in freezing weather for hours only to be moved into conditions Democrats once called “cages.”
• Border Patrol is encountering staggering amounts of gang members crossing the border illegally each day, with a member of deadly MS-13 recently arrested in the El Centro, California sector.
  • This comes after more than 312 MS-13 gang members were arrested last year alone attempting to illegally cross the border.

ENDING TITLE 42 WILL WORSEN BIDEN’S BORDER CRISIS

• Biden’s decision to end Title 42 is expected to cause a 33 percent daily increase in apprehensions at the southern border.
• DHS is projecting up to 15,000 illegal immigrants will cross the border every day once Title 42 ends.
  • This dwarfs the definition of a “crisis” set by Obama’s DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson when he said that “more than 1,000” apprehensions a day would constitute a “crisis.”
• According to Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX), whose district represents most of Texas’ border with Mexico, Biden’s decision to end Title 42 will lead to a catastrophic “hurricane” of migration at the border.
• Earlier this month, 2,000 illegal migrants lined up at the border wall in El Paso waiting for Title 42 to expire.
  • The mayor of El Paso – a Democrat – declared a state of emergency, saying “we have hundreds and hundreds [of migrants] on the streets” as overcrowded facilities reach close to five times their capacity.
  • The Biden administration pressured the mayor not to declare the state of emergency despite the local community and law enforcement begging for help.

BIDEN AND DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS ARE TO BLAME FOR THE BORDER CRISIS

• Biden’s failed policies have created the crisis at the southern border.
  • In Biden’s first 100 days he took more than 94 executive actions on immigration, including halting construction of the border wall and ending the successful “Remain in Mexico” policy.
  • Illegal immigrants have confirmed this: “The border is open…everybody believes that the border is open. It’s open because we enter. We come in, free, no problem…We came ”
  • Meanwhile, a new training video from ICE reveals the Biden administration lost at least 150,000 illegal immigrants during the summer of 2021.
• It’s not just Biden; Democrats in Congress have consistently voted for policies that make the border and country less secure.
  • Democrats have fought to support sanctuary cities and send stimulus checks to illegal immigrants, opposed legislation to fund Title 42, and repeatedly voted against funding the border wall.
  • Democrats have voted against hiring more border agents, deporting felons, preventing illegal immigrants convicted of crimes from becoming permanent residents — and voted against strengthening the successful Remain in Mexico policy.
  • Democrats have voted against funding for counternarcotic operations and ensuring the enforcement of immigration laws at the border.
  • Democrats have voted against ensuring all local and state law enforcement are permitted to cooperate with federal immigration officials to track illegal immigrants.
• A recent CNN/SSRS poll found that 61 percent of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of immigration.
