Every time Democrat Katie Hobbs emerges from her bunker, she does more damage to her campaign. Such was the case on KTAR this week.
Gaydos and Chad grilled Hobbs for flip-flopping on Title 42 border protections during an interview Tuesday. The next day, they dissected her performance. “She just didn't seem buttoned up. She seemed all over the place. Her answers were not very decisive and concise,” said host Chad Benson on Wednesday.
In her interview Tuesday, Katie Hobbs had to face the music for flip-flopping on Title 42. The show played a clip of Hobbs’ old position on Title 42 before asking, “Okay. You flip-flopped on that, right? Now you think we should keep Title 42.” Hobbs responded, “Look, I never said that we shouldn’t.” (Fact check: FALSE.)
Then, Hobbs tried to blame the border crisis on Republicans. That didn’t work either. Hobbs said, “Right. Republicans are full of empty rhetoric on this issue and they have been for decades.” She was immediately called out by host Chad Benson. “So, the Republicans, this is their fault when they’ve got, what, not the House, not the Senate, and not the presidency. Nothing’s getting done. Let’s be honest here, Secretary Hobbs…”
Katie Hobbs bizarrely tried to blame Donald Trump next. Again unsuccessful. Hobbs said, “Look, Donald Trump ran on building a wall. He had complete control of Washington for two years and we don’t have a wall.” Larry Gaydos called her out. “But he’s not the president. He’s not the president anymore. Joe Biden is,” said Gaydos.
Then Gaydos asked Hobbs, “Have you been to the border?” Hobbs said, “Yes.” Gaydos followed up, “When did you go to the border?” Katie Hobbs said, “A few times in the last several months. I don’t know exactly when.”
